BlackRock sets sights on the Ethereum ETF with a confirmation filing with the SEC!

BlackRock has confirmed its plans for a spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF) in a 19b-4 form filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The ETF is called the iShares Ethereum Trust and indicates BlackRock’s aim to expand beyond Bitcoin. Earlier in November, BlackRock registered the corporate entity iShares Ethereum Trust in Delaware. At least five other firms are in the running for approval for a spot in the Ethereum ETF, including VanEck, ARK 21Shares, Invesco, Grayscale, and Hashdex. Ether rose 8.9% to $2080 on the news, helping to increase its market dominance against Bitcoin by 1.3 percentage points.
