Gala Film’s initiative revolves around four key concepts that seek to modify the entertainment landscape. The first concept focuses on offering free, high-quality content to all users, addressing the challenge of accessibility faced by some platforms. This ensures that exclusive content from the platform is readily available to viewers without any cost.
The second concept introduces a gamification aspect through GalaChain, allowing users to unlock additional content. By collecting Shards from mystery boxes, users may be able to dive deeper into their favourite narratives, access Director Cuts, and gain unique insights into character backgrounds and plot evolutions.
Ownership and Rewards
Ownership is a big part of Gala Film’s strategy, allowing users to possess Moments—specific scenes from films or series. Each viewing of these Moments rewards users, and the rarity of Moments introduces a collectible aspect. Furthermore, assembling Moments into complete Scenes enhances user rewards, creating an engaging and rewarding experience for the audience.
Gala Film’s hosting mechanism through Screen Nodes is yet another feature. Users can acquire a license to operate a Screen Node, contributing to the ecosystem’s support while receiving daily $FILM rewards. This approach encourages active participation and engagement within the community.
Gala Film’s strategy targets industry professionals and aims to engage casual viewers. By showcasing the potential impact of Web3 technology on various artistic careers in cinema, they aim to make Web3 accessible and understandable to a broader audience.
GALA Film – Moving Forward
According to their roadmap, over the next two months, Gala Film plans to launch at least three films, including a major launch and aims for movies and series to be streamable on the platform, supported by Film Nodes. This period will also introduce POPCORN distributions, Distribution Boosts, and unlockable content experiences, alongside a major update to the website to match recent updates to Games and Music platforms.
From May to June 2024, the focus will shift to expanding the platform and preparing for a full release. Six additional films and the launch of the Gala Film token will integrate the platform more closely with the Gala Ecosystem. Enhanced User Profiles and a community progression system will also be introduced.
In the second half of 2024, they aim to lock in nine more films, bringing the total to at least 18. The platform plans to establish a regular release cycle and continue rolling out token utilities and site enhancements.
