Documenting success

Saratoga High School senior Kylee O’Brien won the Girl Scout Gold Award in recognition of a documentary she made on school shootings in the United States.

The award is the highest recognition that members of the Girl Scouts can receive. O’Brien, who plans to attend California State University, Long Beach, this fall, completed the project to raise awareness about the topic using skills she learned in Saratoga High’s media arts program, her father Rob O’Brien said in an email.

She plans to pursue a double major in film and Spanish this fall, her father said.
