116-Foot Super Yacht Spotted In Fairhaven & It’s Stunning

For some of us, it’s boating season. For a select few, it’s yachting season.

Every summer, Newport is a hot spot for yachts, but sometimes, those yachts make a pit stop on the SouthCoast. A 116-foot superyacht was recently spotted at the Fairhaven Shipyard and it is owned by a Michigan family boasting a net worth of $2.8 billion.

The Zeiglers of Michigan

Bonnie and Harold Zeigler have been in love since they were teenagers and have been married for 54 years. They are the proud owners of Zeigler Auto Group, spanning 35 dealerships in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Harold’s son primarily runs the family business now, allowing Bonnie and Harold to be the ultimate snowbirds between Key Largo, Florida and Michigan.

In 2019, the billion-dollar couple were searching for a yacht in the 110-foot range. According to Yachts International, they fell in love with a 116-foot model that Evan K. Marshall of Ocean Alexander was developing.

“After the boat was delivered in summer 2021 — on time — the Zeiglers spent several months cruising New England,” said the publication. “Ziggy accommodated the whole family. … They hosted a party for about 25 friends and were pleased with how well the sky lounge deck worked for entertaining.”

A Superyacht Named Ziggy

Ziggy is hull number one in Ocean Alexander’s 35R series and it is luxury at its finest. Equipped with an exercise space, sauna, and huge swim platform, Ziggy is a sight to behold.

“This boat has just about everything you could imagine,” said MarineMax Sales Consultant Scott Robertson during the yacht’s world debut.

Summer has just begun. Hopefully, the Zeiglers enjoyed the SouthCoast experience before setting off into the sunset.
