When you have seen enough of this world, try a change in perspective, and it will all be new again! Offering a chance of a lifetime to live in wanderlust is the Swiss company Ulyssia Residence AG and acclaimed yacht designer Espen Øino; and that too in a luxury vessel that surpasses the mighty Titanic. Superyacht Ulyssia, with its 132 opulent apartments, is a 1,050-foot floating palace that fuses the concept of traveling and staying home. The world’s chicest ports and most picturesque locales will turn into your regular hangouts, including the remotest places on the planet. Inside, the world will be complete with amenities like a theatre, a library, various pools, and great underwater panoramic viewing rooms. The ship will also include a hospital, a vast wine cellar, several restaurants, a fully-equipped yacht club, a marina, a dive center, and submersibles for endless fun in your natural habitat.

The main question, however, remains the accommodation that will become the nucleus of your nautical life. Homes range from 166 square meters to over 1,400 square meters, comprising one to six-bedroom configurations. The spacious ones will include reception rooms, open-plan kitchens, and terraces for uninterrupted vistas.

There are 13 guest cabins made available for extended family use. Per Dailymail, residents of Ulyssia are expected to be able to take out a 50-year lease to stay on the ship and will have two helicopters on board to travel to land. To make the space feel more like home and a representation of one’s refined taste, owners can choose from eight exquisite design options or customize their interiors.

“[Every resident] has something in common. They want to travel, they are curious, they are adventurous,” explained Alain Gruber, CEO of Ulyssia Residences. “But after that, they divide up into these sub-groups. You have your foodies, you have your divers, you have your sailors, you have your art collectors, people interested in reading and book clubs – all those subcommittees will start to form on board and create a real sense of community.”
Health and fitness are paramount when the plan is to be a seafaring community for weeks at a stretch. Swiss-based Chenot will look after the spa, sports and fitness center, and dental care.

The medical facility mentioned above will feature the latest, high-quality equipment such as X-rays, MRI, CT scanners, endoscopy, and ultrasound equipment. With a 50-year lease signed, any of these can prove to be essential at any point in time. Alain Gruber, CEO of Ulyssia Residences AG, said: “The concept behind Ulyssia is to travel the world – but from your own home. Every day you can go out and discover new destinations around the world, but in the evening you can come back to your family in your own four walls.” Ulyssia will be equipped with hybrid propulsion systems and will run on methanol to reduce emissions. It will also depend on batteries and solar panels. Prices for the homes are not mentioned but construction begins this year with delivery expected in October 2028.
