TAG Heuer and Porsche Celebrate 60 Years of the Iconic Carrera and 911 – Robb Report

TAG Heuer and Porsche continue their partnership in celebration of the 60th anniversary of both the Carrera and the Porsche 911 with two all-new watches. The duo first teamed up in 2021 with two limited edition models, and last year, the pair launched another limited edition honoring the 50th anniversary of the famed Porsche 911 R.S. 2.7. Now, TAG Heuer and Porsche are at it again with the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche.

The year 1963 was a big one for both companies. It marked the debut of two of each brand’s most iconic and historically significant offerings: the Carrera chronograph and the 911 (originally called 901) sportscar. Six decades later, these two models remain synonymous with each brand, proving their impeccable design and timelessness across generations. This feat calls for celebration in the form of the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche.

Rendered in two variations—one in rose gold with a rich brown calfskin leather strap and one in stainless steel with a sleek black calfskin leather strap—the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche merges elements from both the watch and the car to great effect. But the real showstopper is housed within. With the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche, the brand debuts an all-new movement: the TH20-08, a new interpretation of the in-house caliber TH20 launched at Watches & Wonders earlier this year. The TH20-08 mirrors the original Porsche 901’s acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds with its central hand accelerating swiftly then gradually decelerating over 60 seconds before quickly restarting. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche continues to highlight the legacy of the original 911 on the dial with red lines on the flange mirroring the 0-100 km/h achievement in just 9.1 seconds.

“This watch perfectly encapsulates the essence of the motorsport universe which is a shared value in our partnership with Porsche,’ said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. “We have seamlessly merged the heritage of the 911 and the TAG Heuer Carrera, leveraging cutting-edge technology and unique design. It is a testament to our shared values of precision, innovation, and a deep appreciation for our respective histories.”
