Barry E. Silbert and Mark Murphy Step Down, Mark Shifke is Named Chairman!

Grayscale Bitcoin Trust’s sponsor, Grayscale Investments, LLC, announced on December 26, 2023, that Barry E. Silbert and Mark Murphy will be resigning from the board of directors of the sponsor effective January 1, 2024. The sole members of the sponsor appointed Mark Shifke, Matthew Kummell, and Edward McGee to the board effective January 1, 2024. Shifke will succeed Silbert as chairman of the board. The new board consists of Shifke, Kummell, Michael Sonnenshein, and McGee, who also retain their officer roles under the sponsor’s limited liability company agreement.
