Wider unveils a new era in maritime excellence with the launch of the first unit of the WiderCat 92. Departing from the Wider Vision Hub in Fano, the 28-meter composite catamaran emerges as a harbinger of avant-garde multihulls meticulously crafted by the visionary Fano-based brand.

Designed in collaboration with Luca Dini Design and Wider Centro Stile, the WiderCat 92 epitomizes a fusion of beauty, functionality, sophistication, and innovation. The catamaran seamlessly integrates outdoor and indoor spaces, displaying a thoughtful balance between aesthetics and design ingenuity.

Unit #1 of the WiderCat 92 showcases two spacious VIP cabins and a twin guest cabin on the lower deck. The main deck boasts a capacious owner’s suite, complete with a private foredeck lounge, occupying nearly half of the total space. The galley is conveniently situated on the main deck. The upper deck features an additional forward cockpit, a sky lounge, and the helm station, ensuring a versatile and luxurious onboard experience.

Beyond the customizable aft cockpit on the main deck, offering uninterrupted views through expansive windows, the upper deck presents an additional forward cockpit, a sky lounge, and the helm station.

The WiderCat 92 revolutionizes performance with Wider’s advanced serial hybrid propulsion system. Twin electric motors, each delivering 500kW to the thrusters, coupled with two 349kW variable speed generators for electrical energy production, underscore the vessel’s nautical engineering excellence.

Central to this system are 30 LiFePO4 batteries, expertly managed by a state-of-the-art Battery Management System, ensuring efficient and safe operation. The yacht achieves a 27-nautical-mile range at 6 knots in Zero Emission Mode (ZEM) or a 14-hour autonomy on battery power at anchor.

With 150 m² of solar panels ensuring energy self-sufficiency at anchor, excess energy is stored in the batteries for nighttime use. The serial hybrid propulsion system reduces fuel consumption, engine strain, noise, and vibrations, marking a significant leap in sustainability and operational efficiency.

Marcello Maggi, Head of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that owns 100% of Wider equity, states, “The WiderCat 92 is a collective masterpiece, a synthesis of vision, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology.”

The WiderCat 92 is a testament to Wider’s commitment to environmental consciousness. The high-tech shipyard in Fano, where this multihull masterpiece was born, incorporates solar panels covering the entire roof, aligning with Wider’s eco-conscious corporate mission.

As the outfitting of the WiderCat 92 progresses, sea trials and commissioning are on the horizon, promising a new industry standard. The first unit’s launch marks a milestone in Wider’s legacy of innovation and sets the stage for a new chapter in luxury multihull yachting.
