From the belt to the shoe, five times President Ruto has been spotted wearing super-expensive items

Since his ascension to the highest office in the land, one thing has become undeniable – President William Ruto has an expensive taste.

Numerously, the head of State has been photographed rocking items whose prices have rattled the internet and almost always made headline news.

From his designer shoes to his exceptional timepieces, the President has never hidden his affinity for the fine life and lavish brands, a sure testament of his obviously deep pockets and minted status.

Whether meeting a fellow President or shuttling across the world, the President has always made sure to step out looking luxuriously dapper and smelling like money.

Here are five times the President has been spotted wearing luxurious items whose prices are staggeringly high.

Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Watch

While at Makutano town in Meru County, where he had gone to lay the foundation stones for his housing program, the President was spotted wearing a Ksh. Sh8,746,200 Octo Finissimo Watch by world-renowned luxury fashion brand Bvlgari.

While describing the watch, Bvlgari says it is “a true icon of the 21st century (which) channels a rare fusion of edgy Italian design and Swiss engineering, housing the thinnest automatic movement in the world – only 2.23 mm thick.”

They further reveal that it is an “18-karat rose gold watch with a brown lacquered dial.”

Hollywood actors Chris Hemsworth, Aaron Paul and Adrien Brody have all been photographed wearing the uber-expensive timepiece.

Stefano Ricci crocodile belt (Ksh. 425,000)

Back in November, while attending a church service at the Priesthood Fellowship Church in Kahawa West, Nairobi, the President stepped out wearing a Ksh.425,000 ($2800) Stefano Ricci crocodile belt.

Complete with a a gold buckle emblazoned ‘SR’, the crocodile belt has been touted as one of the finest in the world. In fact, Several top fashion magazines across the world, including GQ and Vogue, have singled out the Stefano Ricci crocodile belt as one of the best and most expensive belts in the fashion world.

So beloved are Stefano Ricci’s designer items that he has even had customers send their private planes to pick up clothes.

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, singer Andrea Bocelli and Nelson Mandela are some of the big names who have stepped out wearing Stefano Ricci brands.

Christian Louboutin shoes (Ksh. 178,000)

On February 12, As he met with Sultan Ahmed Al Jabar, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the Arab Emirates, President William Ruto stepped out in a sleek pair of Christian Louboutin shoes worth Ksh. 178,620.

The luxurious fashion house describes the brown My Amor W Christian Louboutin Oxford shoes as “A sophisticated Oxford shoe, the My Amor showcases Maison Christian Louboutin’s expertise. Crafted in Havane brown patinated calf leather, this elegant style features delicate finishing details. An urban model with sleek lines, it is also suitable for special occasions.”

The beloved French fashion icon even shares a few tips on how the particular shoe should be taken care of.

“Keep the leather area clean and dry using a dry soft cloth, always store your products away from light and heat, protect your leather products from rain and moisture, store your products in the Christian Louboutin dust bag provided and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces,” the website says.

Hollywood stars Timothée Chalamet, Jared Leto and Justin Hartley are some of the big names who regualry wear Christian Louboutin shoes.

Run star hike converse sneakers (Ksh. 15,000)

Back in September, Ruto stepped out looking all dapper and stylish as he flaunted a daring look – donning the youthful run star hike converse sneaker.

The President debuted the look while he drove himself in an electric car to the closing ceremony of Youth Africa Climate Change Summit at KICC, Nairobi.

On the official converse website, the shoes fetch a cool $110 (approx. Ksh 15,000).

While describing the shoes, Essence Magazine said, “These high-tops remain faithful to the original design, but the molded platform, smart foam cushioning and two-tone outsole give them a comfy and chic twist.”

And the President sure did look chic and comfy while strutting around in them.

Salvatore Ferragamo loafers (Ksh. 128,000) and  an A. Lange & Söhnewatch (Ksh. 5 million)

In August, just when he had began flaunting his suave Kanda suits, the President was spotted wearing the stylish Salvatore Ferragamo penny loafers worth Ksh. 128,000.
