Gang stealing luxury cars busted; 3 held

Police caught three persons, including an employee of a garage, on charges of stealing luxury cars.

The arrest came after thefts of luxury vehicles like BMW, I-20 and Baleno from Sanand, Shantipura circles, Anandnagar and Ghatlodia areas caught the attention of the police. Their investigations and CCTV footage led to the arrests of the accused.  

One of the accused, who was working as a glass fitting man in the garage where luxury cars would arrive for servicing and repair, called the gang from Dhoraji in Upleta and carried out the theft.

Jeet Verma, a resident of Sarkhej, had given his BMW for repair at The Garage Tech near Shantipura Circle, but it was stolen. In other incident, a BMW and an I-20 car, given for repair at the garage named Kul Zone near Sanand circle, were also stolen.  

The investigation by the Sarkhej police and with the help of CCTV footage, Zone-7 LCB PSI VB Chowdhury’s team arrested Mohammadyashar Qureshi, 23, a resident of Mirzapur, Adil Khan Pathan and Sameer Sheikh of Dhoraji.

Mohammadyashar was working with garages on SG Highway for over eight years. He contacted Adil Khan Pathan and Sameer Shaikh of Dhoraji and executed the crime as he was well aware of all the details of cars coming to the garage and the place where car-keys were kept.

The police have found four cars worth Rs 22.05 lakh thus far. The cops are now searching for absconding accused Nawaz Khan Pathan and Mohammad Ali Khan.
