Tankoa’s stylish new superyacht concept is an ode to Italy’s fashion capital.

Christened Milano, the 230-footer was inspired by, you guessed it, the city of Milan and combines elegant design with the latest marine innovations. It is also one of the largest yachts in the Tankoa range, behind the 236-foot Solo and on par with the 230-foot Suerte.

“This project means a further step in the growth and consolidation phase that makes Tankoa one of the top players in the construction of luxury megayachts,” Tankoa CEO Vincenzo Poerio said in a statement. “Fusing cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details, Milano embodies our vision for excellence.”

The vessel, which the boutique Italian yard presented at the Dubai International Boat Show over the weekend, was penned in partnership with Mario Pedol and his team at Milanese studio Nauta Design. At once modern and refined, the yacht showcases a sleek silhouette and that classic “Made in Italy” style.

“The stretched horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea’s surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the natural environment,” adds Nauta Co-founder Mario Pedol. “It embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity, and serenity.”

Starting at the stern, the beach club features a lounge with a convertible gym, a relaxation area with a sauna and massage room, an outdoor swimming pool, and folding hull platforms that open to create waterside lounges. Tankoa says the aft sun lounge can be customized, too, so you can put your stamp on Milano.

Heading upstairs to the main deck, a open-air lounge leads to the main salon and dining area. Further forward lie two generous VIP cabins with fold-out terraces, a galley, and a garage capable of storing two tenders. Below, the lower deck houses four guest suites, another garage for water toys and dive gear, 12 crew cabins, and the crew mess and gym. In addition, the under-lower deck is equipped with a single-tier engine room that allows direct passage from the guest accommodation to the beach club.

Higher up, the upper deck is dedicated entirely to the owner. Forward sits an owner’s suite with a walk-in closet, dual bathrooms, and a study, while aft lies a sky lounge and an outdoor dining area. The deck also offers direct access to a private pool and a helipad at the bow.

Higher still, the bridge deck is outfitted with a wheelhouse, a captain’s cabin, and a cinema. It also sports a sundeck with another alfresco lounge area comprising a bar, multiple sunbeds, and two L-shaped sofas.

As for grunt, Milano features a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that includes four variable-speed CAT C32 generators and two 1650 kW e-motors. The setup gives the yacht a top speed of 16.5 knots and also powers the hotel load. The vessel will also be equipped with fuel cells providing up to 200 kW of power, according to Tankoa. The yard says it will start off using methanol fuel cells, but could switch to hydrogen as the technology progresses. That means Milano is not only stylish but eco-conscious, too.
