How luxurious are the new breed of hotel luxury yachts getting?

Sleeping on Louis Vuitton linen or furnishings and banquettes decorated in Dior monogram?

Did we forget to mention the endless supply of Dom Pérignon, and your bathrooms adorned with Acqua di Parma toiletries?

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the parent brand that owns brands like Christian Dior, Fendi, LOEWE, Dom Pérignon, Hennessy, Tiffany & Co, Tag Heuer now has a stake in Orient Express, as well as their first two sailing ships.

The Orient Express Silenseas will set sail in 2026 and is inspired by the Golden Age of the French Riviera.

The company last year, announced it had partnered with the hotel brand Accor and will be looking for a third partner for their new venture, including the Orient Express Silenseas.

The new future company will be in charge of the operations of the ultra-luxe Orient Express hotels and trains. And LVMH will add its products and services to its travel offerings like the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express train, as well as Belmond’s five other trains.

It comes at a time when other luxury brands like the Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton have made big plays in the yachting space. Aman too, announced it will be launching the first of their yachts in 2026.

Four Seasons earlier this year revealed the price of their Funnel Suite which covers 10,000 square feet – with a price tag of US$45,000 per night. The base cost of this grand yacht is US$3,000 per night, which might be an indicator of how much Orient Express’ Silenseas might cost you.

About Orient Express Silenseas

The 220-metre-long yacht will have 54 suites, including a 1,415 square metre Presidential suite, as well as two swimming pools, two restaurants, and a speakeasy bar. Also onboard is a private recording studio as well as spa treatments, meditation sessions, and of course, immersive shore excursions.

“Orient Express has embodied adventure and elegance since its origins,’ said Bernard Arnault, LVMH Group chairman and CEO.

“Its name has become part of our cultural heritage and remains a source of inspiration for the greatest artists.

“Orient Express epitomizes the art of refined living and the audacity that drives each of our houses,’ he continued. ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Accor to accelerate the renewal of this travel icon. Each of our groups will bring the best of its expertise to take Orient Express to the pinnacle of the art of hospitality.”

If you didn’t know this, LVMH previously had a majority stake in its cruise retail business which included Starboard Cruise Services and Onboard Media that provided onboard retail to cruise lines like Princess, Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Crystal, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, among others.

They provided the onboard shopping of luxury brands and watches, as well as perfume and cosmetics.
