The family that eats together, stays together. But when applied to billionaires, the family eats aboard luxury vessels and stays together in a multi-deck masterpiece. Case in point is a 200-feet Royal Hakvoort vessel built for a family and aptly named Top Five II, after the owner’s five kids. The tycoon in question is American sports billionaire Terry Pegula, worth $10.8 billion, who owns the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.

He upgraded from a small boat, a 48-meter Christensen named Liquidity, to a 200-footer boasting an incredible volume of 1,300 GT. It was a large boat for his large family. The exterior design is by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, and Paul Costerus, senior yacht designer and project manager for Sinot, shared, “The focus for the owners was on the interior and on the usability of the boat. The most important thing was how many people you can sit on each deck. It’s a very big boat for its length, but I think we found a good balance between elegance and usability.”

The Top Five II is a fun yacht in addition to being perfect for a family on vacation. Let’s explore the luxury vessel that costs more than $500,000 per week, according to IYC, to rent.

Features of the top-class motoryacht Top Five II:

This big boat is larger-than-life for a hell of an entertaining stint on the sea. It is enormous with wide side decks, large sofas, large cabinets, and deck heights spanning 7.5 to 8 feet tall. This height allows wide and large windows to take in wonderful, uninterrupted views. The main saloon is an elegantly designed space comprising a large dining table seating 14, a lounge area, and a stylish bar dividing the two areas.

The panoramic suite.

The guest rooms are well-appointed, a total of five of them, packed with finery by Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, and Brunello Cucinelli. That means the owner’s suite is even more extravagant, and it sure is. The private owner’s deck is a house within a ship that can entertain family and friends. The panoramic suite is outfitted with a massive his-and-hers bathroom. The saloon features a large bar, television, games table, and lounging space. The suite opens into a private outdoor dining area with comfortable seating space.

For fun in their own little haven of respite, the deck also includes a spa pool and a big sunpad. Large groups can enjoy their time under the sun on the pool deck that boasts a glass-sided blue mosaic spa pool and a bar. This is also where one finds a huge BBQ, and a large fire pit.

The wellness area comes complete with a sauna, a massage table. For movie buffs, the lower deck houses an ultra-comfortable lounge. This could be turned into a seventh guest cabin if not keen on movie nights and in the presence of a large group.

A commodious galley, tender garage, and gym complete the ship. Motoryacht Top Five II is powered by twin Caterpillar engines achieving a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 4,200 nautical miles.

Terry Pegula with his daughter

The famous Pegulas own Top Five II:

One of the five kids who the luxury vessel is named after is Jessica Peluga, a 30-year-old American professional tennis player and daughter of Terrance Peluga. The winner of 10 WTA titles grew up in the lap of luxury owing to her billionaire parents. Her father Terry
Pegula is a prominent figure in the sports industry as is she on the Tennis court.

Worth $10.8 billion, per Bloomberg, the American tycoon made a fortune in oil and gas followed by a flourishing sports empire riding on the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Who would’ve thought that a $7,500 loan from friends and family would transform into a thriving oil and gas production company, for over three decades? Pegula went from one business win to another forming an empire that’s truly inspiring.
