We take a look at the luxurious garage of Namita Thapar, the judge from Shark Tank.

A mother, a leading entrepreneur and an investor, this is  Namita Thapar donning several different hats. Thapar is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, and she is also the founder and CEO of Incredible Ventures Limited. Apart from this, she is a household name thanks to being a judge and an investor in the popular India reality show, Shark Tank India. Thapar’s luxury car collection also in many ways reveals how important practicality, reliability and state-of-the-art technology and safety is for her. Here are the following vehicles from the three German powerhouse automobile manufacturers.

Namita Thapar’s car collection: BMW X7

The X7 is BMW’s flagship SUV model, which is known for its performance, and comfort. In India, the X7 is available in two models, xDrive40i M Sport and the xDrive40d M Sport. According to reports, Thapar owns the latter diesel model, which is powered by a 3-litre mild hybrid inline-six engine producing 335 bhp and 700 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and returns an average of 14.31 kmpl based on ARAI report.

The xDrive40i M Sport gets a 3-litre mild hybrid inline-six powertrain which produces 375 bhp and 520 Nm. It also has a mild-hybrid system that churns out  additional power. According to BMW, xDrive40i M Sport does 0-100 kmph in 5.8 seconds and returns 11.29 kmpl based on ARAI. On the versions are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and have all-wheel-drive system.

Namita Thapar’s car collection: Mercedes-Benz GLE

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is a mid-size luxury SUV and is popular for its rugged design, luxurious features, and powerful engines. In India, the GLE is available in two two diesel options — the GLE 300d 4Matic and GLE 450d 4Matic. The GLE 300d 4Matic is powered by a 2-litre inline 4 mild-hybrid with an output of 265 bhp and 550 Nm. It has a top speed of 230 kmph and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 6.9 seconds.

The more powerful GLE 450d comes with a 3-litre powerplant inline 6 and is the most powerful engine in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. It produces 362 bhp and 750 Nm with a top speed of 250 kmph. It does 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds. Both the vehicles are mated to a 9-speed automatic and have an all-wheel-drive powertrain.

Namita Thapar’s car collection: Audi Q7

Audi is the only German luxury brand in India that offers only petrol powered vehicles and the Q7 is no different. Apart from its bold looks, Audi is world renowned for its quattro all-wheel drive.

It is available in two trims — Premium Plus 55 TFSI and Technology 55 TFSI. Both are powered by the 3-litre V6 mild-hybrid engine with 335 bhp and 500Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and does 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The Q7 has a top speed of 250 kmph. 

Price: Starts from Rs 88.66 lakh, ex-showroom
