Let’s face it; the yachting world is home to some out-of-this-world and sometimes bizarre designs. However, this next one is for those billionaires who just so happen to be Star Trek fans. This is the short story of the NB202.

Folks, recent years have seen an explosion in Turkish-born boats, yachts, and superyachts, and the NB202, or Sarp XSR 85, is no exception. This stunning machine is crafted by none other than Turkey’s own Sarp Yachts, a crew born back in 2009 and formed under the ETI Group, a conglomerate that typically has its fingers in countless industries, including tech and electronics.

However, yachts are rarely the work of just one crew alone. With that being said, we need to also take into account that the hull design isn’t the work of Turkish minds, but rather, Dutch, being designed by the folks over at Van Oossanen Naval Architects in Holland. With Dutch expertise, the folks over at Sarp put together a ship that “sets a new standard in efficiency.”

Furthermore, this puppy’s drivetrain has been designed to run in four distinct modes, including nearly zero-emission goodness. First, there’s a Hybrid mode that uses electric motors powered by a generator for propulsion, Electric mode with power being tapped only from batteries, Silent mode for moments at anchor, and Boost mode for a full-blown experience. In all, 21 knots (24 mph) is the peak speed achieved by this 125-tonne (138-ton) machine.

Now, superyachts are all about luxury living standards designed to steal the hearts, eyes, and minds of all who step aboard. That said, it’s important to note that the interior of this beauty has been crafted by none other than the team over at Artline.

If you’ve never heard of this crew, it’s not a problem. All you really need to know is that they’ve worked with some of the most prominent yacht builders around. Lurssen, Moonen, Heesen, and Danish Yachts are just a few of the collaborators this crew has mingled with. Best of all, their expertise is responsible for vessels from just a few meters long to nearly football-field-sized buggers.

The result of Artline’s work gives rise to no more than four staterooms and the ability to accommodate four crew members. Oh, and don’t be mistaken; that’s not all the interior of NB202 has to offer. This is where I recommend you check out the renderings in the image gallery if you haven’t done so already.

Starting with the very top of the NB202. We can see that a sun lounge is in place with a bimini overhead. This is the place you want to be in order to soak up the sun and be seen as you ride into port. A fully stocked wet bar is found here, and so is a second wheelhouse.

The next deck down is the main deck, and this is the place where you’ll spend most of your waking hours enveloped in a sort of glass house. This section of the yacht features walls made up of glass and, as such, allows you and your guests to enjoy a 360-degree view of the world around you. Go ahead; kick back, have a coffee, and discuss how to rule the world next year.

One aspect that Artline focused on was bringing earthly tones and aspects of design in order to offer an earthly experience in a world covered in water. Greens hang out of planters integrated into walls, wood can be seen all over the walls, floor, and ceiling, carpeting mimics Zen sand gardens, and the LED lighting overhead is on a whole new level.

Another aspect that Artline paid heavy attention to is texture. Not only does teak flooring boast that classic yachting feel, but walls feature textured panels that look like sand dunes in the wind, and if I’m not mistaken, I even spotted gold-plated hunks of raw wood as coffee tables.

Aft on this deck, the designers decided to add an alfresco dining and lounge area, ready it with sunbeds, and allow guests to access the beach deck below. This is where you want to be if playing around in shark-infested and mile-deep seas is your thing.

Further exploration of the main deck brings us to the helm. Take a moment and really let yourself become enveloped in the interior you see in the image gallery. Take a seat on the captain’s chair, grab the throttle, let everyone know that they should take their seats shortly, and punch it. While the brokers of this vessel state that Star Trek inspires the engine room, I find that the wheelhouse is the place where you’ll feel as though you own your very own starship.

The lower deck is, as is customary of vessels of this size, reserved for nothing more than the staterooms, including the master bedroom. Again, Artline decided to keep the whole earthly feel intact, and bedrooms are once again filled with beige, brown, and green color tones, and textured walls, cabinetry, and flooring are part of the magic, too. After nights of partying, it’s in these rooms that you’ll finally crash out. Considering it’s your ship, pass out anywhere you’d like.

Now, there’s something you need to know about this beauty: it’s available for immediate delivery, as long as you show up with €5,950,000 ($6,386,000 at current exchange rates) to the Northrop&Johnson brokerage table – the crew facilitating your possible transaction. It’s simple: you like, you buy; the rest is in your hands.
