Oceanco’s Simply Custom series welcomes two additions to its fleet, marking a significant step in the Dutch shipyard’s commitment to personalized luxury.

Originally announced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2023, the Simply Custom collection comprises 17 superyachts, each measuring an impressive 80m. Designed to cater to diverse tastes, Oceanco collaborated with leading yacht designers globally to infuse unique styles into the series. The latest unveilings, named Storm and Portofino, are the brainchildren of H2 Yacht Design.

Storm

Both superyachts boast a meticulously crafted and efficient hull, courtesy of Lateral Naval Architects. The vessels share a common hull, providing a stable foundation for innovative design possibilities. With a gross tonnage ranging from 2,500 to 2,700 GT, Storm and Portofino spread their luxurious living spaces across five decks. The accommodation includes seven guest cabins and an owner’s stateroom strategically positioned on the upper deck.

Storm

Setting new standards in eco-friendly cruising, the Simply Custom series emphasizes low-emission propulsion. Storm and Portofino are equipped with hybrid diesel-electric systems, aligning with Oceanco’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Paris Baloumis, Oceanco’s representative, highlighted the adaptability of the architecture, allowing seamless integration of future propulsion technologies.

While both yachts share a commitment to sustainability, their designs reflect distinct personalities. Storm exhibits an assertive profile, blending the timeless elegance of a Bentley coupe with a tapering aft end, evoking a sense of speed and sophistication. In contrast, Portofino draws inspiration from the classic charm of the Italian fishing village. Integrating “ruthlessly modern” details, such as a flared bow and a dramatically shaped transom, Portofino combines timeless aesthetics with contemporary flair.

Portofino

The transom design further distinguishes Storm and Portofino. Storm features an open transom cascading down to the water, emphasizing a seamless connection to the sea. In contrast, Portofino boasts a main deck pool flowing elegantly to the beach club below.

Portofino

The Simply Custom series is conceived to streamline the customization process for owners, ensuring efficiency without compromising on the hallmark Oceanco quality. The introduction of Storm and Portofino marks a significant stride in Oceanco’s pursuit of delivering bespoke luxury experiences.

Oceanco was founded in 1987. Right now it is a world-class builder of custom superyachts up to the 140 meters range. Oceanco works with world-known designers such as Terence Disdale, Nuvolari-Lenard, Espen Oeino, Sam Sorgiovanni, Igor Lobanov, Tim Heywood and Andrew Winch to create some of the timeless and award-winning yachts afloat today.
