While Tal has not been involved in the lawsuits, things are quickly heading south for his younger brothers as nearly 30 alleged victims have come forward with similar allegations against them since the initial lawsuits became public, as per The Real Deal. The complaints were filed ahead of the expiration of a statute of limitations for civil sexual assault cases in New York.

Here’s what we know about the ultra-luxury broker Oren Alexander and his potential downfall:

Oren Alexander had an early interest in property

Born to Israeli parents Shlomi and Orly Alexander, Oren had an early interest in property inspired by his father, a residential developer. The now 36-year-old graduated from the University of Colorado before moving to New York to join the industry.

He was 21 when he closed his first deal, an US$8.17 million penthouse at the Park Imperial in New York City. The property heir went on to make impressive sales like the US$47 million house in Miami that his dad built. Meanwhile, Alon has worked as president of Kent Services, a division of the business his mother co-founded, Kent Security.

Tal and Oren built the Alexander Team during their time at Douglas Elliman property firm and later took that group to Official. The pair has been known for having billionaire clients, including Griffin when he broke a US record with his US$238 million purchase of a penthouse at Manhattan’s 220 Central Park South.

The Alexanders have also reportedly worked with clients ranging from Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump to designers Steve Madden and Tommy Hilfiger.

The team reported more than US$810 million in sales volume in 2023 across New York, South Florida and other luxury markets, making it the top-selling mid-sized US group by volume, according to RealTrends.

Known for keeping a high profile in Manhattan, Miami and other international hotspots, Oren boasted to Bloomberg News in 2022 from St Tropez, France, about the wealth of his clients and his team’s sales skills: “We’re the 0.1 per cent of brokers that really sell to the 0.1 per cent of clients.”

Oren Alexander has since stepped away from his firm

“I have made the decision to take a pause from my work at Official as I shift my focus towards fighting these baseless civil claims,” Oren wrote in an Instagram Story. “I am confident that through review of the extensive evidence, including text messages and other communications, that the truth will be brought to light.”

According to an emailed statement by Official, Tal will continue to oversee their team and the firm’s co-founders will operate the business.

Who are the victims and what are their allegations?

The alleged victims Rebecca Mandel and Kate Whiteman filed separate suits against the brothers on the same day. According to Mandel, she ran into the twins at a since-closed nightclub in September 2010 and knew them from prior encounters at the same club. Her complaint alleges that Alon drugged her before the brothers coerced her to their flat where they raped her, as per The Real Deal.

Whiteman’s lawsuit alleges that she met the twins in 2008 and had declined multiple advancements from Oren. In May 2012, Whiteman states that as she was leaving Dune, a Hamptons nightclub, she was grabbed by Alon and taken to Oren who was waiting in a black SUV. The brothers then reportedly drove to “Sir Ivan’s Castle”, a property in the Hamptons, where Whiteman claimed she was drugged, battered, assaulted and raped.

In response, the Alexanders’ lawyer Jim Ferraro has strongly denied the allegations, calling the filing a “total shakedown”.
