With a national legacy dominated by art and exploration, thousands of miles of coastline, and a rich maritime history, Italy is known internationally as a shipbuilding superpower. Boatbuilders hailing from this country are producing nearly half of the world’s luxury yachts, so it’s no wonder one of the stars of the upcoming Miami International Boat Show might be an Italian-built vessel.
Riva, the oldest and one of the most esteemed shipyards in the world, is known for offering timeless yacht designs that incite the desire for adventure. With its sleek, racy profile, exceptional engineering, sophisticated interior style, and impressive performance, Riva 82 Diva promises modern yachtsmen an unparalleled experience on the high seas.
Showcasing the unmistakable style of Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, the masterminds behind Officina Italiana Design, the flybridge yacht features a series of design evolutions, such as the inclusion of high gunwales with painted composite elements instead of the typical steel handrails found on most vessels.
Moreover, Riva says the new yacht marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company, offering a “revolutionary approach to the use of space.” The designers focused on maximizing outdoor areas for al fresco living and creating indoor spaces that are well-delineated and designed according to their function. As such, the yacht’s flybridge, which offers no less than 40 square meters (430 square feet) of usable space and is said to be one of the largest in this size category, has designated zones for each living area. There is a lounge aft, another lounge with dinette and bar in the center, and a sunbathing area forward. The central area is protected by a carbon fiber hard top with glass panels.

At the stern, a generous beach club is further expanded by means of fold-down terraces that increase the vessel’s width by three meters. A 35-square-meter (377-square-foot) cockpit on the main deck is furnished with sofas that are strategically arranged to offer guests fantastic sea views. Each space exudes sophistication, creating the ideal setting for luxurious relaxation.
Inside, guests are greeted by a welcoming ambiance, with generous spaces boasting a comfortable contemporary design. With an impressive 90 GT of interior volume, Riva 82 Diva offers a large main salon boasting a split-level configuration with a lounge area aft and a dining table for eight on the upper section. Though visually divided, these two areas are not completely separated, so there is a seamless transition between them. A compact galley on the port side is also part of the layout.
The sleeping quarters are located on the lower deck and provide accommodation for up to eight guests in four en-suite cabins. The yacht’s owner benefits from a full-beam master suite located aft that includes a spacious cabin, a large en suite bathroom, and an office area.
Riva has built a reputation for developing stunning watercraft. But apart from comfort and eye-pleasing aesthetics, their yachts are also fast. Powered by two MAN V12 1800 engines, the Riva 82 Diva model is able to reach a top speed of 29 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots. Those who like the thrill of high-speed sea adventures can opt for a pair of MAN V12 1900 engines instead to get a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots.
