The Pudong Golden Week Shopping and Tourism Festival recently kicked off at Florentia Village Shanghai, an Italian luxury designer outlet, with a focus on charity and sustainable development.
As a major venue of the shopping festival, Florentia Village launched a sustainable care program “To Love, Together,” setting up a charity pop-up selling second-hand clothing and items donated by China’s supermodels such as Bonnie Chen, Liu Wen, Zhang Zilin, and Chun Xiao, as well as fashion influencers Xiao Xue, Ms MIN and Filial Xiaobai.
The pop-up store’s design interprets the sustainable theme with green as its main color. Shaped into a big tree house, the store, constructed with sustainable materials, vintage furniture, grass-weaved mat wallpaper and green plants, creates a relaxed and natural environment.
The charity sale pop-up store sells second-hand clothing and items donated by fashion industry celebrities.
Part of the revenue will be donated to the “Star. Bunny. Love” Children’s Mental Health Care Action to help those on the autism spectrum.
“We started our first charity bazaar by selling second-hand clothes donated by my friends in the industry 12 years ago. Then it snowballed, and more people kept joining year after year,” said model and actress Bonnie Chen, founder of the “Star. Bunny. Love” program.
Her eco-friendly and care initiative raises funds to help autistic children, and has collected over 1 million yuan (US$144,864) to support art therapy programs for children for over a decade through exhibitions, charity markets and other activities.
With the support of Shanghai Fashion Week, the Florentia Village, the “Star. Bunny. Love” Children’s Mental Health Care Action and the accessory designer brand WANACCESSORY launched a special edition of a tote bag and handbag for the charity project, which features a joyful bunny image with a refreshing tangerine hue interwoven throughout the collection.
The ongoing exhibition “Art of Living in Italy” features artwork by the sofa designer Carla Tolomeo and contemporary artist Daniele Fortuna, who bring visitors a sensory indulgence in Italian lifestyle aesthetics.

The statistics from the Pudong Commission of Commerce reveals that the new area in the first eight months of this year has achieved a total retail sales of 268.8 billion yuan (US$36.84 billion), an increase of 22.3 percent over the same period last year, which was 4 percentage points higher than the city’s retail sales growth rate.
According to the latest report by UnionPay, by the end of August there were a total of 19.489 million visitors from outside Shanghai to Pudong, a year-on-year increase of 46.5 percent. Among them, 337,000 were overseas. They spent the highest amount in the retail industry, accounting for 82 percent, while their average daily expenditure in entertainment, accommodation, and catering rose by over 50 percent.
