Taylor Swift loves a love story, and she’s willing to do more than croon ballads about it. The Eras superstar lent her Rhode Island home to close friend Gigi Hadid to escape to a private getaway with new love interest Bradley Cooper, a source told UK’s Mirror on Saturday.
“Taylor is a total romantic and loves playing cupid for her friends,” the source said. “Even though Gigi and Bradley have their own properties in New York, they wanted somewhere more private to spend time getting to know each other, and Taylor was only too happy to help.”
Swift, who is dating American footballer Travis Kelce, is giving the hot new couple of Tinseltown free reign over the 12,000-square-foot mansion that sits on the highest point in Watch Hill. Built in 1930, the home features seven bedrooms, even more fireplaces, and a pool in the back that overlooks 700 feet of shoreline with views of Little Narragansett Bay. The mansion was originally owned by American composer and socialite Rebekah Harkness, who would become Swift’s muse for her hit song “The Last Great American Dynasty.”
Swift purchased the mansion for $17.75 million in 2013, according to Insider. It was known prominently as a site of the superstar’s legendary Fourth of July bashes that one year involved a massive, patriotic inflatable slide. Hadid is no doubt familiar with the estate, having attended such parties as part of Swift’s A-list squad.
Rumors about Cooper and Hadid’s blossoming romance, months after the supermodel ended her relationship with the actor’s best friend, Leonardo DiCaprio, have been surfacing this week since the two lovebirds were spotted on October 5, dining at celebrity hotspot Via Carota in New York’s West Village, the Daily Mail reported. Just days later, the duo was photographed arriving back in New York with a car full of luggage after what appeared to be a weekend getaway to Rhode Island, Page Six speculated.
“Taylor was only too happy to help,” another unnamed source told People. “She said the door to her home is always open for them to use.”
There are definite perks to having a multimillionaire popstar bestie.
