The awe-inspiring Double Down is one of the latest big hits in the used superyacht market, selling for more than $30 million despite its lengthy career spanning nearly 15 years.

John Rosatti isn’t one of those millionaires who try to stay away from the spotlight as much as possible and keep their luxury assets secretive. He has been known for decades as a notorious serial yacht owner and passionate water lover. Nice N Easy, Remember When, Thunderball, and Take It Easy are just some of the floating mansions owned by the BurgerFi founder over the years.

By 2017, the number of Rosatti’s previously owned superyachts had increased to a whopping 15, and that was in addition to smaller and faster boats, which he also loved. That was the year when the fast-food mogul got to fully enjoy his latest acquisition at the same, the stunning Double Down.

The Double Down superyacht was built in 2010, and Rosatti purchased it five years later. He didn’t hesitate to invest heavily in an extensive refit, which took most of the following year, resulting in a stunning and decadent floating palace ready to emerge in 2017. “Floating palace” is not a hyperbole, considering that the Italian beauty was a 214-footer (62.25 meters) that could easily accommodate almost 20 guests.

Originally designed by the prestigious Italian brand Codecasa, with interior design by Della Role Design, Double Down (as Rosatti renamed it) was refitted under the supervision of another big name in the industry, Evan K Marshall. Some of the most spectacular amenities included a lavish private cinema, a glamorous salon with a grand piano, a fully-equipped gym, and an eight-person jacuzzi towering on the bridge deck. Yet, as decadent and sophisticated as it sounded, Rosatti looked at Double Down simply as his family boat.

According to an earlier interview, the millionaire chose this Codecasa pleasure craft primarily for its spacious accommodation. A family man who loved to enjoy cruising with all his close family members and friends, Rosatti found the nine-cabin configuration a great starting point. All the sophisticated amenities and the glamorous style that came afterward were just the cherries on top.

The Italian-built pleasure craft is still one of the most voluminous superyachts in its size category, boasting a massive 1,278 GT. In addition to the rare nine-cabin configuration that can welcome up to 20 guests, it also comes with amenities for a huge 19-person crew.

Following several refits across the years, this 14-year-old Codecasa is still one of the best family yachts that blends the luxurious comfort of a home away from home with sumptuous classic elegance. It’s therefore not surprising that Double Down was snatched off the market for somewhere around $31 million (its last known asking price). It’s time for another millionaire to experience family cruising the Codecasa way.
