Peter Todd, a prominent figure in the Bitcoin community, recently took to X to respond to claims made in HBO’s documentary “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery.” The film suggests that Todd may be Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. In his post, Todd, dismissed the documentary as “bullish”, asserting that the filmmaker, Cullen Hoback, has misrepresented facts and failed to provide him an opportunity to review the film before its release.
The documentary features interviews with notable figures from the early days of Bitcoin and attempts to connect Todd to Satoshi through various circumstantial evidences. However, Todd’s outright denial and critique of the documentary highlights the ongoing debate and speculation surrounding Nakamoto’s true identity.
Todd takes a Jab at Wright
Todd in one of his X post, humorously remarked, “After all, Craig Wright is the world’s foremost expert on not being Satoshi,” referencing the ongoing controversy surrounding Wright’s own claims to be Bitcoin’s creator, even though a UK High Court ruling explicitly stated that Wright is not Nakamoto. This comment creates skepticism surrounding assertions about Nakamoto’s identity, particularly in light of previous misattributions.
So Craig Wright has come out saying that HBO’s documentary is bullshit.

HBO’s Satoshi Documentary Mocked
In addition to Todd’s dismissal, Craig Wright echoed with similar sentiments regarding the documentary. He emphasized that speculations about Satoshi’s identity does little to advance the understanding of Bitcoin itself and can detract from meaningful discussions about its future.
As discussion continues, both Todd and Craig advocate for a focus on Bitcoin’s technology rather than speculations about its creator. The mystery of Satoshi remains a captivating topic within the crypto currency community, but for many, including Todd, it is essential to prioritize substance over sensationalism.
