Dutch yacht-building company Feadship finally delivered the 92-meter superyacht Drizzle after successfully completing its sea trials in June. The owner of the elegant pleasure craft is none other than Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega. Best known as the founder of fashion clothing retail brand Zara, the 88-year-old business tycoon is considered a pioneer in fast fashion. With a current net worth of around $111 billion, he’s the 12 richest person in the world according to Forbes.

The billionaire previously owned a smaller 220-foot Feadship tri-deck luxury vessel by the same name. Previously known as Project 1012, Drizzle marks the beginning of an important chapter for Feadship. She is the first Feadship vessel to carry full Hybrid Electric Class notation. According to the Dutch company, Drizzle was built for a repeat customer who came with “informed requests based on his long experience of yachting.”

The vessel was designed by acclaimed Dutch studio Sinot, along with the owner’s own design office. Featuring an understated but classy design, the 92-meter superyacht gets a deep blue hull and a white superstructure, giving it a modern-classic appearance.

The interior of the vessel is designed to mirror the qualities of an “understated family home” replete with natural materials and finishes throughout. The layout of Drizzle features a total of 5 cabins that can accommodate up to 14 guests. Furthermore, a crew of 18 members is needed to operate the superyacht.

Amenities include a massive main deck pool and a state-of-the-art beach club with dual fold-down platforms, which offer the ultimate luxury experience on the water. The owner’s suite, family lounge, and wellness area are located on the upper decks. The sundeck doubles as a vantage point with a forward-facing sofa and sun loungers. A side-loading garage is situated between the engine room and the beach club. It can store two 10-meter tenders, a ski boat, and various water toys.

A state-of-the-art propulsion unit powers the Drizzle. It comprises two main engines and shaft-driven fixed-pitch propellers. It is assisted by a pair of electric motors of 560kW each, which draw power from a 1MW Li-ion battery pack. The e-motors can work as shaft generators to produce electricity or propel the vessel at low speeds. It offers a perfect balance between top-notch performance and environmental responsibility.
