Plans have been approved for the redevelopment of the Hungarian Hall. The proposal outlined a six-storey mixed-use apartment building which will be known as The Osmond.
The development will house 23 high-end apartments, with a mix that caters to diverse needs: five two-bedroom, 16 three-bedroom, and two luxurious penthouse four-bedroom apartments.
The design ensures a clear distinction between the ground level podium, the upper-level apartments, and the penthouse level, achieved through strategic setbacks and variations in materiality and colour.
One of the standout features of this development is the revamped Hungarian Club of SA community facility, set to be located at the ground level. The club will boast a restaurant and function room, ensuring it remains a vibrant part of Norwood’s social scene.
Adding to the allure of this development is its prime location. Situated just moments away from The Parade and Norwood Oval, residents and community members will find themselves in the heart of all the action.
The design also places a strong emphasis on aesthetics. The upper building levels will feature planter boxes with hanging landscaping, adding a touch of green to the urban setting. The penthouse, set further back to maintain a subtle street presence, will be clad in slate grey, distinguishing it from the rest of the building.
The development will have on-site parking, including a basement car park.
