Abigail Barone, of Pleasant Gap, recently received her Girl Scout Gold Award for developing a project with the goal of raising awareness of mental health struggles in everyday life. The Gold Award requires eighty hours to design a project that will make the world a better place and is the highest award available to Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors. Abigail created a three panel semi-permanent mural is installed at the Centre County Library and Historical Library located in Bellefonte. The mural presentation was included as part of the libraries Browse and Bites event Friday, October 20. She also created an Instagram page, @beingkindtoyourmind23 to further highlight information and support about this important topic. She continues her life’s journey as a student at South Hills School of Business and Technology (State College campus).
