The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the introduction of NFT tickets on select Tejas trains for passengers travelling between Delhi and Lucknow during the festival of Holi. This move is another example of the growing momentum behind NFT tickets in altering the landscape of traditional ticketing systems.
A Digital Commemoration
From March 20 to April 2, travellers booking tickets on Tejas trains numbered 82501 and 82502 can obtain NFT tickets. These digital tickets feature artistic representations of iconic landmarks from Delhi and Lucknow, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. This initiative not only celebrates the vibrant festival of Holi but also integrates traditional elements with modern technology on IRCTC’s digital platforms.
Holi, also known as the festival of colours, marks the end of winter and heralds the start of spring, a time of rejuvenation. This festival is traditionally celebrated on the full moon of the Phalguna month in the Hindu lunisolar calendar. In 2024, the date is March 25.
