Soccer star Marcus Rashford totaled his $880,000 luxury Rolls-Royce Wraith, and the car ended up in a salvage yard. Someone bought it in an online auction and is planning to return it to its former glory. But when he clicked the Bid button, he had no idea that the car was such a mess.

The Rolls-Royce Wraith that belonged to Manchester United’s star is in terrible condition right now and is going to need more than just TLC to get back on the road. The car is missing the entire front fascia, the front fender, and a part of the rear bumper, while the windows on the left side were shattered in the crash.

The suspension on the left side, both front and rear, is in pieces right now, and everything looks way worse than in the photos uploaded in the listing on the auction website. The Rolls-Royce is also missing the umbrella that it comes with from the factory. Well, Manchester doesn’t exactly have the best weather.

It doesn’t run, it doesn’t drive, even though the listing said that it started. Its new owner, Mat Armstrong, needs a forklift to put it on the trailer bed. The Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge, with Mansory magic all over it, is brand-new. The odometer shows just 1,135 miles (1,827 kilometers). Mat paid 185,000 pounds ($233,105) to take it home. But he is soon going to regret the move.

Marcus Rashford hit another car and a pole with his Wraith Black Badge

Marcus Rashford, the soccer star who got used to parking tickets for stationing his super-expensive cars around Manchester and London, had just left United’s base in Carrington on a rainy night in September 2023, following a match against Burnley.

He somehow collided with another car, driven by a 74-year-old woman, and a pole located on a traffic island. He immediately checked on the woman to make sure she was alright and then called a trailer truck to get his Rolls-Royce off the road.

The photos of the aftermath showed a pole put down to the ground and a super-expensive and exclusive car in very poor condition. It had serious damage on the front end, left front fender, and on the left side of the rear bumper.  The soccer star walked away unharmed that night, but pretty shaken.

The car he totaled was a brand-new 2023 Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge upgraded by Mansory, for which the 26-year-old had paid approximately 700,000 pounds, which translates to $881,650.

The totaled Rolls-Royce ended up in a salvage yard and was auctioned off. Mat Armstrong is the one trying to save it. However, it takes him a lifetime to start the engine. Jumpstarting it doesn’t work. Actually, nothing seems to work, and the fault scanner shows no engine-related issues.

That 6.6-liter V12 generated 624 horsepower (633 metric horsepower) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton meters) of torque even before Mansory got its hands on it. Right now, it just doesn’t start, no matter what they do.

Not enough pressure in the brake pedal of the Rolls-Royce Wraith

When it finally started, they felt like they won the lottery. They knew that having to replace the engine of the Wraith with a brand-new V12 was going to cost them a fortune. But that was just a one-time luck. The second time they tried to start it, they couldn’t do it. So they are going to figure out a solution to make that power plant run.

Once they got the luxury car inside the shop, they started working on it. It is a race against time to restore its former glory. They are probably planning to make the 26-year-old Marcus Rashford feel sorry he gave up on the Rolls-Royce. Everything starts with ordering car parts. And they are anything but cheap.

Now they know. Buying a car after Rashford smashed it is not the best of ideas. For the moment, the soccer star owns a couple of McLarens, six Mercedes examples, a Range Rover Velar, a Lamborghini Urus, a Cadillac Escalade V Series, and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge.
