A surprising story has come out where a man, deep in debt because of his nights out at clubs, sold his mother’s expensive cars by faking her signature. This unusual incident has caught the attention of car lovers everywhere.
How It All Started
Kent, whose real name is Liu Kuei Liang, found himself in trouble after spending too much money on flower garlands for singers at clubs. As per a report by CNA, to fix his money problems, he decided to sell two of his mother’s cars without telling her: a very fancy Rolls Royce Dawn 6.6 V12 and an electric Mini Cooper SE.
The Plan in Action
In August 2022, Kent reached out to a car dealer, Autoart Singapore, to sell the cars. He agreed to sell the Rolls Royce for 700,000 Singapore Dollars (A used Rolls-Royce Dawn V12 AUTO car in Singapore is priced at $1,490,000) and the Mini Cooper for 130,000 Singapore Dollars (Mini Cooper JCW New costs S$ 286,888). Kent then tricked the dealer by saying his mom was not in town and faked her signature on the sale papers.
When the car dealer wanted to double-check with Kent’s mom, Kent gave them the phone number of a friend in Taiwan who lied for him. Believing they had the mom’s okay, the dealer paid Kent a deposit of 150,000 Singapore Dollars (₹92 Lakhs).
What Happened Next
Things went downhill when Kent’s mom found out and reported to the police. However, she ended up paying back the dealer to get her cars back.
In court, Kent got a 12-week jail sentence for his actions. His lawyer said Kent thought he could solve his money issues quickly and made a big mistake. The lawyer also pointed out that the dealer did get the cars, which were worth a lot more than what was paid as a deposit.
The Cars at the Center
The Rolls Royce Dawn is known for being super luxurious and powerful, able to go very fast very quickly. The Mini Cooper SE, on the other hand, is an electric car known for being stylish and good for the environment. Both cars are very special and usually catch the eye of people who love cars.
A Lesson Learned
This whole situation shows how far some might go to keep up with a fancy lifestyle, even if it means hurting their own family. It’s a reminder for car fans and everyone else about the importance of honesty and the dangers of living beyond one’s means.
