It’s been almost three weeks since pop culture’s most popular power couple shared a very public kiss in Argentina, sending NFL and Taylor Swift fans further down the rabbit hole of dissecting Swift’s and Travis Kelce’s every move.
And Floridian Swifties might be particularly delighted to hear that the crazy-looking shirt Kelce wore in Buenos Aires – which also caused a whole thread of response videos – is actually from a South Florida-based brand.
Here’s why the shirt Kelce wore to Swift’s mid-November concert matters to Swifties, which South Florida designer is getting the attention for it and how the NFL star has been a fashion icon for longer than he’s dated the “Cruel Summer” singer.
What do Swifties wear? Why do they care about Travis Kelce’s shirt?
Since the announcement of The Eras Tour, Swifties across the country have spent countless hours and dollars crafting outfits to wear to the tour.
Fans of the “Miss Americana” star are filling social media feeds and stadiums across the world with handmade costumes that replicate looks Swift wore on red carpets, stages or in music videos, themed outfits that correspond with Taylor Swift Eras and homemade accessories covered in jewels, sequins, beads and feathers.
It goes without saying that Swift’s army of fans pay attention to details, and of course, fashion choices. There are entire playlists of TikTok videos dedicated to analyzing Swift’s concert costume changes and even nail polish colors for hints (or Easter eggs) that point to upcoming album releases and projects.
So, when Travis Kelce showed up to his girlfriend’s concert in Argentina, wearing one of the busiest and boldest fashion choices the Swifties had ever seen at a concert, it didn’t go unnoticed or get outshined by the couple’s viral kiss.
And the shirt that introduced Swift’s fans to Kelce’s bold personal style was made by J. Logan Home, a lifestyle brand based in Palm Beach, of all places.
What is J. Logan Home clothing?
J. Logan Horne is a collector, designer and former celebrity stylist who once styled A-listers and supermodels, like Lindsay Lohan and Karolina Kurkova.
Horne is also a Florida native, according to Architectural Digest. He grew up in Jacksonville and temporarily moved back home during the pandemic, when he came up with the idea to make couture more sustainable.
In 2021, J. Logan Home launched in Palm Beach. Horne makes the fabric for the brand’s furnishings and clothing from pre-owned luxury items, like Hermes scarves and Gucci pocket squares.
J. Logan Home’s silk shirts, like the one Kelce was spotted wearing in Argentina, are all one-of-one designs made from repurposed silk designer scarves.
This means you can’t just run out and buy the same one Kelce was wearing.
“The Maison signature shirt (seen on Kelce) is a Cuban-styled short-sleeved silk shirt,” according to a spokesperson for the brand. “(It) was produced using repurposed and authentic Yves Saint Laurent silk scarves. Due to the limited availability in sourcing, each signature shirt is made as a one-of-one design … no two Maison shirts will be the exact same.”
One of these shirts from J. Logan Home costs between $2,850 and $3,250.
Does Travis Kelce dress himself? Or does he have a stylist?
If you knew who Travis Kelce was before Taylor Swift started dating him, the bright button-up short-sleeve shirt he wore to her concert in Buenos Aires probably wasn’t surprising.
Kelce is something of a fashion icon in the sports world and is known for making bold statements with his outfits — the Chiefs’ website even has a photo gallery dedicated to his looks, titled “Travis Kelce is a Stylish Man.” The tight end’s personal style has even been complimented in publications like GQ, Sports Illustrated and Vogue.
According to a 2021 Complex interview, Kelce doesn’t have a stylist and likes to focus on having fun with his gameday looks.
