The team behind Middlesbrough-based Achieve Hospitality were “ecstatic” to take home the Most Original trophy at the Best New Tees Business Awards.
The luxury sector recruitment agency – who staff the luxury end of hospitality – private households and estates, retail and fashion brands, super yachts, chalets and private jets – described the win as “the ultimate recognition.”
Achieve Hospitality founder and managing director Lewis Clennell (pictured) received the award from Jo Davies, managing director of category sponsor, Yarm-based HR Alchemy.
The category was one of 10 at the third annual Best New Tees Business Awards – which was organised by Tees Business in association with headline sponsors and hair extension experts Additional Lengths.
It was an evening full of celebration and recognition, held in the Pavilion at Kirkleatham Walled Garden.
And for Achieve Hospitality, it was a successful night indeed after triumphing over unique fellow finalists Abi & Abi and Blend.
The Achieve team is led by Lewis and his business partner Molly, supported by nine consultants operating across every time zone globally to support all of their clients.
“We have very few clients here (on Teesside),” Lewis explained, explaining the need for 24/7 coverage to accommodate for their global clientele.
People might not associate Teesside with the luxury sector – truly cementing Achieve Hospitality as an original firm in the Tees Valley area.
“All our competition is outside of Teesside,” he continued. “The clients that we’re working with are some of the biggest names and industries and to know that we’re a small agency here in Teesside…we are so proud of that. We put Teesside on the map globally.”
And the plans to build upon their early success aren’t slowing any time soon.
“Now we are growing – we’re a part of a recruitment group. We have Achieve Professionals that launched in October – that’s recruitment in legal and finance.
And Achieve Hospitality will continue to grow around the globe.”
As well as the team of experts behind Achieve Hospitality, Lewis suspects that there could be another factor contributing to the firm’s ability to stand out and be successful.
He smiled: “I think it’s the northern charm that wins people over!”
