The Renault Group has confirmed its future plans for the Alpine brand, the desirable sportscar maker that will soon market its vehicles in the United States. During the 2024 Annual General Meeting, Renault CEO Luca de Meo laid out the plans for the Alpine brand. The chief executive confirmed that the Alpine marque will become a global brand, with seven electrified models on the way, along with potential hydrogen-powered cars. “Alpine is on track to become a global brand with 50% of volumes outside of Europe by 2030,” said de Meo. The current A110 will be killed off shortly and replaced by a new electric model, available in coupe and convertible forms. This model will be offered in the United States and will arrive from 2026 onwards.
Alpine A110 Successor Coming To America
Unlike the current model, which is powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter engine, the new A110 will be all-electric. Underpinned by the Alpine Performance Platform (APP), L’argus reports that it will receive a 77 kWh battery. This will undoubtedly appeal to American consumers and give the coming all-electric Porsche 718 Boxster successor a worthy rival. Of course, the A110 isn’t the only Alpine model destined for our shores.

The A310 will make a return after more than 40 years. Initially thought to be a traditional sports coupe with a 2+2 seating layout, the new A310 will be larger, more practical than the A110, and possibly more luxurious. However, French reports suggest it will debut as a svelte four-door coupe to rival the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. This has yet to be confirmed, but it would make sense, giving the brand more appeal among a wider range of consumers. The A310 is expected to hit the American market from 2028 onwards.
SUVs Will Drive Alpine’s American Success
Alpine’s big sellers will be its first-ever SUVs, destined to reach America in 2027. A compact and midsize option will appeal to two of America’s most popular segments. While fans will be displeased to see the Alpine badge on SUVs, introducing these vehicles is vital to the brand’s success, particularly if it wants to survive as a luxury brand in the US market. The smaller model, reportedly dubbed the A390, will be based on the CMF-EV architecture, which underpins the Nissan Ariya. Reports claim it will feature a 90 kWh battery.

The EV is equipped with functions similar to the steering wheel of the Alpine F1 car.
The larger model, expected to use the A490 model name, is rumored not to be a traditional SUV but a sporty crossover-cum-wagon like the Taycan Cross Turismo. Of course, it could also be a raised grand tourer like the Lamborghini Lanzador or a coupe-style SUV like the Lotus Eletre. L’argus reports that both SUVs will be produced in South Korea.
What Else Has Alpine Got Planned?
The Alpine A290, the brand’s electric hot hatch, will be officially revealed later this year. Sources say the styling will be close to the striking concept previewed in 2023. Sadly, this is not in the cards for America. There’s a possibility we may see a range-topping GT car, too. Remember, Renault’s CEO says it is looking into hydrogen technology, which may be used to power this potential halo car. The brand recently revealed the Alpenglow Hy4 prototype, which could influence the GT car. If it comes to fruition, we hope it is offered in the United States.
