The end of one era is always the beginning of another. At Bentley, they confirm this with the exceptional Bentley Edition 8 series, which marks a farewell to pure petrol V8 engines in its Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible and Flying Spur models. Last chance to secure a piece of automotive history – without electrification!

Bentley, synonymous with British luxury and superior automotive engineering, is introducing an exclusive Edition 8 series exclusively for the North American market. But this farewell to petrol V8 engines also extends beyond the Atlantic; The UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa are also saying goodbye to this legendary 4.0-litre twin-turbo beast.

Edition 8 is not just an ordinary series of cars. Available in over 60 colors offered by Bentley’s Mulliner workshop, and with a choice of 22-inch five- or ten-spoke wheels, these cars combine style and substance in a way rarely seen. Let’s not forget the self-leveling center caps and special badges on the Continentals’ fenders and the Flying Spur’s rear pillar.

In addition to already familiar luxury accessories, such as the polished fuel cap, the Edition 8 also brings some new details. The interior is decorated with logos on the door sills and seatbacks, and the seats are now trimmed with Palm Fluting fabric, which was not available on standard models.

With the Edition 8, Bentley not only ends the chapter on petrol V8s, but also heralds the future. The latter will feature “Ultra Performance Hybrid” technology, which for the first time will combine a V8 with an electric motor, offering more than 740 horsepower (552 kW) and 738 pound-feet of torque (1001 Nm).

What does this mean for Bentley fans? It’s a unique opportunity to experience the pure power of the petrol V8 before the brand finally switches to hybrid and electric powertrains. This transition is symbolic as Bentley demonstrates its commitment to innovation and a sustainable future without sacrificing the luxury and performance its customers are accustomed to.

The Bentley Edition 8 is more than just a car; is a tribute to tradition and a look into the future of mobility. With each model in this series, Bentley not only offers an exclusive driving experience, but also promises to preserve a legacy that will transcend current generations. In a world where the automotive industry is moving ever faster towards electrification, the Edition 8 ensures that the transition will be as elegant as possible. For those who value technology, history and prestige, there is no better time to invest. With the Edition 8, Bentley not only says goodbye to the petrol V8, but invites us into a new era of motoring – with elegance and power that only a few can afford.
