1 Honda Prologue

Starting MSRP: $48,795

While not the fastest of the bunch, the 2024 Prologue offers buyers a satisfying and rewarding package that is both easy on the wallet and easy on fuel. The Prologue can be had with either a 212 horsepower single-motor and FWD or a slightly juicier 288 horsepower dual-motor set-up with AWD. The Prologue may lack the punch of some of its competitors, but it excels in daily driving and predictable, safe road manners.

The Prologue was built in collaboration with General Motors, and shares numerous components with the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, including the Ultium battery pack and the chassis, among others. The 85 kWh GM battery is good for 281 miles per charge and can power up on a DC fast charger at a max rate of 155 kW. The interior shows obvious signs of Chevrolet activity, as the layout and dimensions are uncannily Blazer EV-esque. However, Honda made sure to leave their signature throughout the cabin to reassert their claim over the snazzy electric utility vehicle.

2 Mercedes-Benz EQB

Starting MSRP: $52,750

First released in 2022, this seven-seater is yet to disappoint. Starting at $53,900 (destination included), this big EV SUV can cost up to $63,550 (destination included), depending on the trim you choose. The best trim out of all would be the EQB 300, which offers a driving range of up to 242 miles on a single charge, though all trims include M-B’s signature upscale class. The EQB 300 offers 225 ponies, but the fastest trim is the EQB 350, which can churn out a decent 288 horses. Both the 300 and 350 feature the highly adaptable 4Matic AWD system, which increases the traction and, ultimately, the capability of the EQB.

However, the EBQ 250+ has the longest range at 250 miles per charge. Fitted with a 70.5-kWh battery, this large electric SUV requires 30 minutes to charge with a fast charging Level 2 DC-fast charger. It comes with an elegantly designed interior with soft-leather upholstery as well as rose gold interior accents, on par with the German luxury giant’s familial appearance and quality. The cargo space is generous, 62 cubic feet with the seats folded, and that number drops with the seats up to 22 cubic feet.

3 Kia EV9

Starting MSRP: $56,000

The production version of this electric SUV was unveiled in March 2023 and is currently available as a 2024 model. The Kia EV9 has two variants; a six-seater and a seven-seater. The base trim comes with a 76.7-kWh battery pack, while the AWD version and the Long Range trim will have a much more powerful 99.8-kWh battery pack which can offer a driving range of 280 miles on a single charge.

The same cannot be said with the dual-motor version, but the dual-motor RWD can churn out 201 horses, whereas the AWD trims can generate a maximum of 379 ponies. There is also a performance version in the pipeline, from which you can expect to generate an astonishing 576 horses, but this trim will enter the market only in 2025. This full-sized SUV comes with Kia’s 800-volt electrical architecture, which can help it replenish 149 miles of range in under 15 minutes.

4 VinFast VF9

Starting MSRP: $69,800

A fairly new automobile manufacturer, Vinfast, is set to release its first all-electric SUV. VinFast, the Singapore-based Vietnamese manufacturer, will set foot in the U.S. with the launch of VinFast VF9. Best of all, this large electric SUV comes with off-the-chart specs. This seven-seater can go an estimated 369 miles on a single charge, but only if you use the Enhanced Range battery pack.

The standard battery pack offers a reduced driving range of 272 miles per charge. This dual-motor AWD can churn out a respectable 402 ponies and go from 10 to 60 mph in under 6.3 seconds. The interior design seems to be inspired by Tesla’s Model Y and comes with a 15.6-inch display that can also be used with a voice assistant. The infotainment system of this full-sized EV SUV comes with onboard video games and a lot more.

5 Jaguar I-Pace

Starting MSRP: $72,575

This standard-size EV first made its way onto the market in 2019 and is Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV. Currently, only one trim, the HSE, is available, and it will cost you an estimated $72,575, including destination charges. Equipped with two electric motors, this EV SUV can generate a decent 394 horses and just over 500 pound-feet of torque, and can definitely second Jag’s claims that the I-Pace is a performance SUV. This electric baddie can race from 0-60 MPH in 4.5 seconds!

The I-Pace does fall short of driving range, 246 miles on a single charge, and of course, there are other options within the same price category that can offer over 300 miles of driving range. Equipped with a 90.0-kWh battery pack, it requires less than 40 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with a standard DC fast-charging port. The interior is splendid and spacious, with 53.6 cubic feet of total cargo space. 6 Audi Q8 e-Tron

Starting MSRP: $74,400

The Audi e-Tron was released in 2019, and since then it’s seen quite a few changes, including the name. The Audi e-Tron was rechristened to Audi Q8 e-Tron in 2022. This AWD sport utility vehicle makes use of two electric motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear, as well as an 86.5-kWh battery pack that can generate a respectable 355 horses. If you switch to the “Sports Mode,” this SUV can whoop out 402 horses for a brief period of time, and performance trim can generate up to 496 horses.

Still, it can propel the EV SUV from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds and can generate a staggering 835 horses. This large EV SUV also comes with impeccable off-roading capabilities. You can easily drive through 3+ feet of water or on any terrain. The interiors are elegantly designed, come with two reasonably large display systems, a 12-cubic-foot trunk, and can offer 104 cubic feet of cargo space.

8 NIO ES8

Starting MSRP: $75,000

The NIO ES8 is an electric SUV designed by a small Chinese company and has been in production since 2017. It was first introduced to the market for the 2018 model year in its home country and was also sold in Norway starting in 2021. Whether the ES8 will ever be imported for direct sale in American markets has yet to be seen, but it does not seem to be likely for now.

The NIO ES8 started its second generation this year with an upgrade in technology. However, getting to where the company is aiming at is still a reach. The main goal that executives are striving to achieve is to add AI into the software of the ES8, allowing the car to become a level 3 autonomous driving car or higher. Of course, that is a complicated undertaking, as the world has seen through the blunders of Tesla’s self-driving attempts. Still, sooner or later, that concept will become a reality. It just depends on who perfects the technology first.

9 Volvo EX90

Starting MSRP: $76,695

The new all-electric flagship EV SUV, the 2024 Volvo EX90, is set to take the EV-sphere by storm. Reservations for this large EV SUV have started, and the deliveries will commence in 2024. Although the pricing details aren’t fully revealed, the base trim starts from $76,695 and is well-equipped, as per Volvo. This 7-seater comes with exceptional features like over-the-air updates and Lidar technology. The infotainment system also has an intuitive interface to enhance the in-car experience.

This dual-motor AWD can generate a maximum of 496 horses and can go up to 300 miles on every charge. Fitted with a 111-kWh battery pack, this EV requires only 30 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. This large EV SUV also offers a generous 68.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

10 Tesla Model X

Starting MSRP: $77,990

Apart from being one of the best large electric SUVs, the Tesla Model X is also one of the fastest. The performance trim of the Model X, the Model X Plaid, can propel itself from 0-60 mph in under 2.5 seconds. The base trim is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, and can produce a whopping 532 ponies. In contrast, the Plaid version, with 3 electric motors, delivers 1020 ponies.

This SUV can go up to 348 miles per charge, which is quite impressive! This seven-seater electric SUV also offers exceptional cargo space, with 91 cubic feet of cargo space. In addition, the Model X also features a “frunk” (front trunk) which offers an additional 6.6 cubic feet of cargo space. The charging time is also pretty impressive, but only if you use Tesla’s supercharger. Without it, charging times can vary depending on the connection you use. 11 BMW iX

Starting MSRP: $87,100

Hands down, the iX is one of the best electric SUVs you can get right now! Amazing ride quality paired with snazzy interiors, the all-electric BMW iX is worth every dollar spent. The iX has two motors and a reasonably large 105.2-kWh battery pack. This dual-motor AWD’s standard trim can generate 516 ponies, which bumps up to 610 horses with the performance trim. The performance trim falls short on the driving range – 293 miles on a single charge – whereas the standard trim can go up to 307 miles on a full charge.

BMW iX Specifications

The price for the iX starts from $87,100 and can go up to $111,500. The interior is simplistic, yet has cutting-edge features such as a panoramic sunroof which comes with the option of electrochromic shading. Customers can also choose faux leather, genuine leather, or fabric as their upholstery option.

12 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

Starting MSRP: $105,550

This full-sized electric SUV is not only one of the most spacious but is also one of the most luxurious. Released in the fall of 2022, the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is a bigger, more practical version of the all-electric luxury EQS sedan. The interiors of the EQS models are especially roomy. This seven-seater offers 31 cubic feet of cargo space with the third row down and can be further pushed down to open up a total of 74.2 cubic feet of cargo space while comfortably accommodating five people.

With all the seats in use, you still get 6.88 cubic feet of cargo space. Furthermore, depending on the trim you pick, you can get anywhere between 335 and 536 horses. Equipped with a 107.8-kWh battery pack, the entry-level trim offers a decent 305 miles per charge, but that number dips for costlier trims to 285 miles per charge. But the EQS SUV also comes with impressive off-roading capabilities as well as other cutting-edge tech and safety features!

13 Hyundai Ioniq 7

Said to be similar to the Palisade, the Ioniq 7 is expected to be brought out to the market in 2024, though the concept SUV shown to the public may not be the version you see. Not yet, anyway, because that one has some pretty serious high-tech. In fact, the version shown to the public as a concept car was basically a home on wheels, with the choice of even having an L-shaped style couch as one of the middle-row seats.

The Ioniq 7 is expected to have a range of over 300 miles per charge, but since the production form has yet to be shown, the exact details will have to wait to be seen. The coach doors that have been designed into the SUV for the rear doors will more than likely stay to ensure ease of entrance for rear passengers, and since the entire idea behind the Ioniq 7 is to offer you choices, the interior setups should be up to you to decide upon how the seating arrangements are set up, and what options are included within.

14 Lucid Gravity

The Lucid Gravity is a seven-seat luxury SUV that is slated to be placed on the market in the early part of 2024. The upstart company has not mentioned a starting price tag, or if there will be any trim levels other than the base model available, so you will just have to sit back and wait to find out.

The company does promise that the only vehicle currently on the market that will be able to match the range of the new SUV will be its own Lucid Air, which can achieve up to 516 miles. Of course, that is if the Gravity is driven calmly, but with a car that can shoot from 0 to 60 in under three seconds, that probably will not happen very often. The best thing is that the people at Lucid have teased the fact that the Lucid Gravity will be similar to the Air, with improvements that they have discovered since it was first produced.
