When thinking about which car manufacturers’ vehicles get the most speeding tickets, some might point toward high-priced sports car brands like Lamborghini and Ferrari  (RACE)  — brands whose supercars can easily break the 200 miles per hour barrier.

However, a new study released by insurance website Insurify determined that its not the case, as more “pedestrian” foreign automakers have rounded out the 10 brands with the most speeding tickets in the United States.

Nissan luxury arm Infiniti topped Insurify’s list of auto brands with the most speeding tickets. Its G37 sports coupe and sedan has 10.7% of its drivers reporting a citation.

In its latest study of its database of over 4.6 million auto insurance applications, researchers found that no American brands have fallen into any spot in the top 10 of auto brands with the most speeding tickets, and that foreign brands originating from Germany, Japan and South Korea has dominated the list.

Topping the list is Nissan’s  (NSANF)  luxury arm Infiniti, with 8.7% of drivers reporting a speeding violation on their records. In second comes Toyota’s  (TM)  former “youth brand,” Scion, with 8.4% of its drivers reporting a speeding violation. It is then followed by German powerhouse Volkswagen  (VLKAF)  in third with 8.3%. Japanese brands Subaru  (FUJHF)  and Mazda  (MZDAF)  followed in fourth and fifth with 8% and 7.7 of drivers, while sixth and seventh went to VW-owned Audi and South Korean automaker Kia, respectively with 7.6% of drivers reporting speeding citations.

Eighth on the list went to Japanese brand Honda with 7.5% of its drivers reporting speeding citations, while the list rounded out with the ninth and 10th position tied up with German luxury brand BMW  (BMWYY)  and South Korean automaker Hyundai with 7.4%.

On the opposite end, Insurify found that the least ticketed brands were GM-owned  (GM)  luxury nameplate Cadillac with 5.6% of drivers reporting speeding citations, electric mainstay Tesla  (TSLA)  with 5%, and Swedish and Chinese owned Volvo  (GELYF)  with 2.7%.

For nine out of the 10 of the worst offending brands, the vehicle dubbed its “worst offender” was one of the brand’s more sporty offerings from its current or past catalog. For instance, 14.6% of drivers in Audi’s 349-horsepower S4 sports sedan have reported a speeding citation, while 13.6% of drivers in Subaru’s turbocharged, all-wheel-drive WRX reported that they received a speeding citation.

More surprisingly, of the 10 most-cited models on its list, Insurify found that the all-electric BMW i3 speeds the most overall, with 17.6% of its drivers having speeding citations on their record.
