D-Marin, a premier operator of luxury marinas, has made a significant entry into the French marina market by securing the tender for the renowned Camille Rayon marina on the Côte d’Azur. The Vallauris Golfe-Juan municipal council has appointed D-Marin as the new concessionaire, marking the company’s first venture in France.
Camille Rayon marina, strategically located on the Mediterranean coast, offers 841 berths for vessels ranging from small boats to 75-metre (246-foot) mega yachts. Built in 1989, the marina is well-sheltered and conveniently situated near key attractions such as the Lérins Islands, the Bay of Billionaires, and the Massif de l’Esterel, all within an hour’s cruise.
D-Marin plans a substantial investment of €52 million (c. $56.7m) over the next 25 years to enhance the marina’s facilities and infrastructure. This investment will focus on integrating modern technologies and ensuring sustainable practices as part of D-Marin’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
Architect Rudy Ricciotti, in collaboration with Bouygues Construction and Arcadis, will lead the renovation design, while MB92 will handle shipyard operations, specialising in superyacht refit, repair, and maintenance.
Kevin Luciano, Mayor of Vallauris Golfe-Juan, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The Camille Rayon port is entering a new era with D-Marin’s innovative and environmentally focused project, designed by world-renowned architect Rudy Ricciotti. This development will enhance the port’s appeal and boost Vallauris Golfe-Juan’s international profile.”
Oliver Dörschuck, CEO of D-Marin, echoed these sentiments: “We are delighted to bring our high-end, eco-friendly marina experience to one of the most beautiful destinations on the French Riviera. This expansion reflects our commitment to growing our network of premium marinas and offering exclusive travel experiences to our customers.”
Corinne Reynaud, D-Marin’s CFO and president of D-Marin France, added, “Welcoming Camille Rayon into our portfolio is a significant milestone. We are committed to partnering with the local community and stakeholders to promote sustainability and excellence in marina management.”
The acquisition of Camille Rayon complements D-Marin’s recent expansion in Italy, including the marinas Marina degli Aregai and Marina di San Lorenzo in Liguria. Located approximately 100 nautical miles from Camille Rayon, these Italian marinas offer seamless cruising opportunities for D-
Marin customers, who benefit from seven days of complimentary berthing at any D-Marin marina with an annual contract.
Camille Rayon marina is set to provide a comprehensive, premium marina experience, aligning with D-Marin’s values of superior customer service and exceptional leisure facilities. With the addition of Camille Rayon, D-Marin now operates 27 marinas with nearly 14,000 berths and extensive commercial spaces, reinforcing its position as a leader in the luxury marina sector.
