The news that the famous young couple was living in Ontario, Canada wasn’t a huge surprise considering the fact that Justin was born in Stratford and lived there until he began his career in 2008. Now that it has been several years since the pair first tied the knot, fans are curious about how Justin and Hailey Bieber live when they’re in Canada. Here’s whether they are living large or if non-celebrities can actually relate to them.
How Much Did Justin And Hailey Bieber’s House In Canada Cost?
Justin and Hailey Bieber own more than one house, which of course makes sense given their wealth. They purchased a house in Beverly Hills, California in 2019. According to an Architectural Digest story from 2021, they spent $8.5 million. However, when they put it on the market, they got $7.995 million, and that was with furniture.
According to House Beautiful, they have two places in California. In 2020, they spent $25 million on a Beverly Hills home. In 2018, they began living in a Toluca Lake, Los Angeles house and they paid almost $100,000 each month in rent.
Justin and Hailey Bieber’s Canadian home cost less than their California houses, but it’s still pretty pricey. According to W Magazine, they paid $5 million for a house on Puslinch Lake, which is located in Ontario.
The house is 9,000 square feet and is located on 101 acres. From the beautiful photos that W Magazine published, it’s clear that it’s a super fancy place to live and every room is huge.
One of the most attention-grabbing parts of the house is the horse track and stable that are in the backyard. That’s definitely a unique feature.
As a source told Us Weekly in November 2018, the couple was happy to settle into their house on Puslinch Lake.
The source said, “Hailey and Justin are living in Waterloo, Ontario, full-time now. That’s their home base. Justin has a huge home up there — 9,000 square feet, 1,000 acres, on a lake. He loves it up there and so does Hailey.”
What Is Justin And Hailey Bieber’s Canadian Lifestyle Really Like?
Even though Justin and Hailey Bieber are such big stars, they seem to really value being by themselves when they are in Canada. Not a lot is known about what their lifestyle in Ontario is like. There are rarely stories about them being seen in the nearby town. It’s possible that they don’t leave their property much when they are there.
As Hailey told Elle in 2020, she likes to keep things to herself. She said, “I really value our privacy. Especially because with Justin, he’s never had a private life really. He’s so used to it that he doesn’t mind being so open with people. I’m the opposite.”
On the one hand, the fact that their house cost $5 million proves that they can afford to spend much more money than the average person. On the other hand, when Hailey Bieber talked about Canada in a March 2023 interview with The Kit, she sounded very easy to relate to. She shared several things that she loves about the country, including hockey and Tim Hortons coffee.
Hailey said, “My favourite hockey team is the Toronto Maple Leafs—obviously! I could never say that it was something else because that would just be blasphemous for my in-laws and my husband, so we’re going to go with the Maple Leafs.”
In her interview with The Kit, Hailey also said “My go-to Tim Hortons order is a French vanilla—looove a French vanilla—and a double chocolate donut and then sometimes a hash brown because their hash browns are so good.”
Many Canadians can absolutely relate to Hailey Bieber’s love of Tim Hortons. After all, countless Canadians begin their day with their favorite drink (and maybe a breakfast sandwich, donut or muffin) from the popular coffee chain.
Hailey seems to have totally embraced Canada, even when it comes to her work life. In April 2023, Hailey began selling her Rhode skincare line in the country. The Daily Mail reported that they hosted a gathering in Toronto, Ontario to mark the occasion.
Even though Justin and Hailey Bieber’s Canadian house is expensive and more fabulous than most people’s, they do seem to live a pretty chill lifestyle when they are in Ontario. Over the past couple of years, whenever there have been news stories about them spending time in Canada, Justin and Hailey sound completely relatable. They do a lot of activities than any regular couple would.
In 2018, The Cut reported that the couple was going out for ice cream in Stratford. In March 2023, according to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Hailey and Justin went to a game and supported the Toronto Maple Leafs.
When the couple lived at their Ontario house during the COVID-19 pandemic, Justin shared how they were passing the time. He said that he and Hailey were getting into the kitchen, which many people can relate to. However, the singer also mentioned having a chef, which is definitely not relatable.
According to The Daily Mail, Justin was interviewed on Instagram Live and he said, “We’re cooking a little bit. We’re lucky we have a chef at home. Yea, Hailey and I have been cooking a little bit. We cooked a penne pasta the other night, that was really good.”
Justin Bieber has always been proud to be from Canada. Even though there are times when he definitely lives a fancy lifestyle, it’s nice that he and his wife Hailey have settled down near his hometown.
