The $28 million project, The McDaniel, will feature Parisian-inspired architecture, limestone exteriors, rooftop terraces, cabin elevators, natural stone countertops and 10-foot ceilings.
And residents able to afford that luxury lifestyle will be walking distance from downtown Greenville.
Kicking off the beginning of construction, developers broke ground on The McDaniel Thursday morning.
“The McDaniel stands alone in Greenville in its refinement, its vision and in the lifestyle it offers,” noted Keene Development Founder Kyle Keene. “We knew The McDaniel would quickly become one of Greenville’s hottest real estate products, and we have been thrilled with the support it has received from the city, from the neighborhood and from buyers.”
The sale-only townhomes cost from $1.4 to $2.2 million, with five plans to choose from.

Located near the Alta Visita neighborhood, the development comes from a partnership between Keene Development Group as the developer and Wilson Associates, one of Greenville’s largest independent real estate firms. MHK represents the architectural firm.
Split into two phases, phase one will bring 20-unit metropolitan styled townhomes, with the second phase bringing 10 units directly adjacent to phase one. With the project announced in May, city of Greenville’s Planning Commission approved the first phase of the project in April and the second phase in August.
Phase one construction is expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025, with plans for phase two to be announced in the second quarter of 2024.
High-end features will be included in the project as well, like Brizo faucets, porcelain countertops, built in gas fireplaces on the terraces, and local custom cabinetry.
Non-refundable deposits have already been accepted for more than half of the units, according to Sharon Wilson, with buyers representing a “solid mix of present Greenville area residents and those relocating to Greenville, especially from larger cities where this type of development is more common and very much in demand.”
The New York City-inspired townhomes also represent the first project to align with the recently adopted development code from city of Greenville. The new development code calls for “transforming new developments into node complexes, or little pockets of a town,” according to past reporting from The Greenville News.
Despite the architecture reminiscent of the Big Apple, the project is led by a Greenville developer, sold by a Greenville real estate firm, financed through a Greenville area lender and uses Greenville-based project partners.
