Landgraf sweeps Sachsenring weekend
The ADAC GT Masters season continued last weekend at the Sachsenring, supporting the DTM championship, with another disappointing grid, featuring just eight GT3 cars.
Landgraf Motorsport duo Salman Owega and Elias Seppänen enjoyed a dominant weekend, winning both races and taking the championship lead in their Mercedes AMG-GT3.
In Race 1, Owega and Seppänen moved into the championship lead with their win. Behind it was a second podium for Schubert drivers Eduardo Coseteng and Ben Green. Maximilian Götz took third place with HRT team-mate Petru Umbrarescu.
Race 2 on Sunday saw a repeat performance from the Landgraf pair. Second place went to Grasser Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan of Benjamin Hites and Marco Mapelli. HRT pair Alain Valente and Ralf Aron took third place in another Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“I am overjoyed with the two wins and the points haul this weekend. Up until now, I had always experienced the victories from the pit wall. This time I was able to take the chequered flag myself for the first time, which felt great,” said Owega after Race 2.
Next up for ADAC GT is a trip to the Red Bull Ring in Austria from 22nd to 24th September for its only event outside Germany this season. The iconic GT series then heads to the season finale at the Hockenheimring from 20th to 22nd October.

Keating orders Rolex watches
Ben Keating had custom Rolex watches created for him and his Corvette Racing co-drivers Nico Varrone and Nicky Catsburg, to celebrate their 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours GTE Am triumph.
“At the Le Mans 24 Hours, the overall winners get a Rolex watch,” said Catsburg on social media. “The same cannot be said for the class winners, unfortunately. It’s unfortunate and questionable.
“For Ben, this wasn’t acceptable and to commemorate our 2023 class win at Le Mans, HE GOT US ONE!”
Strong field for Pilot Challenge Indy night race
44 cars are on the Michelin Pilot Challenge entry list this weekend, with 28 in GS and 16 in TCR for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 240.
Both classes feature tight championship battles with two races to go. Christian Szymczak, Kenny Murillo and the #72 Murillo Racing Mercedes are 10 points ahead of Robby Foley, Vin Barlett and the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 in GS.
In TCR, Harry Gottsacker, Robert Wickens and the #33 Bryan Herta Hyundai are 50 points better than Chris Miller, Mikey Taylor and the #17 Unitronic/JDC-Miller MotorSports Audi RS3 LMS TCR.
This weekend’s Pilot Challenge encounter is notable for a number of reasons. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is an unfamiliar circuit to most drivers and teams. It’s also one of only two four-hour “endurance” races on the 10-event schedule in the Pilot Challenge, along with the season opener at Daytona International Speedway and will run into twilight.
The race will start at 16:30 and finishing at 20:30 on Saturday. Sundown in Indianapolis is set to occur at 7:52 p.m., meaning the track will generally be shrouded in darkness by the end. IMS has numerous video boards that effectively light up the pits and the main straight, but the rest of the 2.439-mile, 14-corner road course features no permanent lighting. Temporary lighting was erected near the fast chicane leading to the back straight for a recent private test.
