For celebrities and ultra-wealthy individuals, yachts are a peaceful oasis where they can take a break from their high-profile public lives. The high demand for luxury recreational watercraft has been fueling the production of majestic vessels, and it could even be said that the global superyacht industry is undergoing a golden age.
Called Global 550, the new yacht is a futuristic 180-foot (55-meter) “eco-explorer” with an efficient design and environmentally friendly features, and the shipyard has revealed some photos of it ahead of its official presentation at the highly-anticipated Monaco Yacht Show, which is set to take place between September 27-30.
Defined by beauty, innovation, and sustainability, the new explorer yacht is the result of a collaboration between Monaco-based studio Dobroserdov Design, which took care of the exterior design, and Vripack Design, Dynamiq’s long-term partner, who was responsible for the yacht’s naval architecture. The interior spaces were imagined by ZROBIM architects.

Touted as an ultra-efficient, globetrotting superyacht, Global 550 boasts a robust yet lightweight all-aluminum hull characterized by sleek lines and contemporary aesthetics. It is built to travel vast distances, so it was equipped with two incredibly efficient 625 kW Volvo Penta engines that will allow it to easily reach an almost double transatlantic range. This means it will be capable of traveling more than 5,000 nautical miles on one tank.
What’s more, sustainability was also high on the list of priorities in the design of the new yacht, so it features smaller IMO Tier III engines, a battery system, and the latest filtration solutions for exhaust gases and water treatment. Large 21,000-liter fresh water tanks will ensure greater autonomy, and the yacht is also said to feature ample storage spaces throughout.
A deeper connection to the water and increased focus on nature observation were central to the design of Global 550. It has been achieved through the use of full height windows and the inclusion of large, panoramic lounges on every deck, underwater drones, and even a telescope. A crow’s nest is the highest lookout point on the yacht and provides the best and furthest-reaching views.
The new explorer yacht has a gross tonnage under the 500 GT mark, but it integrates plenty of luxurious features, such as a helipad for trips to shore and an opulent spa area, complete with a hammam and a sauna. A commodious owner’s office on the main deck that doubles as an observation lounge is also part of the design.

For the interiors, which are said to embody a natural minimalistic aesthetic, the team of architects at ZROBIM decided on a harmonious fusion of natural materials, such as American oak, wenge, and dark Shimo ash, with different stone textures and neutral hues. Since the vessel is meant to cruise for extended periods in cold waters, this combination ensures the ambiance is homely and inviting.
The use of natural materials aligns with the increasing demand for more environmentally friendly and sustainable yachts.
The indoor spaces are also inspired by natural landscapes that incite adventure and exploration. For instance, illuminated Golden Queen onyx washbasins look like a glacier going under the water, while textured stones such as Arabescato Orobico Grigio and Spider green marbles reminisce remote mountain ranges.
Special features that enhance the feeling of being one with the sea, along with its long-range capabilities and focus on sustainability, make this yacht an appealing prospect for the modern consumer. Dynamiq is asking €27,900,000 for the new Global 550, with an estimated construction time of 30 months from the contract being signed.
