Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) Andaman Islands has announced that Port Blair Sea Port has been designated as an official entry port for e-visa holders. This development promises to revolutionise yacht, superyacht, and cruise tourism in the Andaman Islands, making it easier for travellers to explore the region’s stunning waters and picturesque islands.
Mr R. Rathnam, director of APS Andaman Islands, stated, “This significant change came about thanks to the persistent efforts and requests from Asia Pacific Superyachts India for Port Blair to be recognised as an entry port for e-visa holders. Previously, visas could only be issued by the Indian Embassy in Southeast Asia for residents and nationals of those countries, leaving many yachts unable to visit the Andamans.”
Mr Rathnam added, “Applying for a regular visa involved a lengthy process, including filling out forms online, scheduling appointments at visa application centres, and surrendering passports for at least five days, which was costly and inconvenient. The new e-visa process simplifies this significantly. Travellers can now apply online, receive their e-visa approval via email within 72 hours, and enter Port Blair with just a copy of the approval.”
Luxury yacht visitors can now enjoy the Andaman Islands’ secluded spots, coral gardens, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear blue waters, with temperatures around 28°C (82.4°F). APS Andaman Islands, led by Mr Rathnam and his dedicated team, will ensure a seamless experience for visitors. It offers tailored itineraries, including advice on navigational hazards, berthing, anchoring, quality accommodations, special island visits, vehicle rentals, air travel, and helicopter transfers.
