FREELAND, Mich. (WJRT) – The Freeland woman who is accused of renting designer clothing from a subscription service and then selling the items will have to appear in a New York courtroom later this month.
Court records show 41-year-old Brandalene Horn faces three federal charges from the alleged scheme. She was arrested and released on a $10,000 unsecured bond while awaiting further court proceedings.
Horn is accused of renting designer clothing and accessories from unidentified rental companies and not returning the clothes. Instead, she alleged sold them online and pocketed the profits.
Investigators in New York believe she had rented more than $800,000 worth of clothes. They believe she made about $725,000 by selling them.
Horn is scheduled to appear in a New York federal courtroom on Feb. 28.
