German real estate tycoon Jakob Mahren is ready to part with his stunning superyacht after six years. Almost a decade old, the 44.8-meter (147 feet) Forever is still one of the most attractive luxury yachts for young owners due to Mahren’s innovative vision.

In 2017, the young millionaire purchased his biggest floating luxury toy so far, the 147 feet Forever. At the time, the yacht was three years old. Mahren was convinced by the vessel’s masculine, bold exterior, created by the acclaimed Luca Brenta. As for the interior, he wanted a major transformation. The original classic style was more suitable for the previous owner, but the much younger Mahren found it too dark and outdated.
The enthusiastic owner moved fast. In record time, the Italian yacht became a jaw-dropping floating mansion. It was a finalist at the World Superyachts Awards in the Rebuilt/Refit/Conversion Yacht category. Mahren’s vision was clear – he wanted a Miami penthouse-style vessel that would be both a floating office and a cool party boat. It was a different kind of crossover yacht, one that could instantly go from family cruising to glamorous parties at sea.

The outstanding transformation is owed to Michael Niedrer, head of design at the St Corona Interiors studio in Vienna. Niedrer was Mahren’s friend and the one who had styled Mahren’s luxury chalet in the Alps. In less than a year, the interior refit was complete. The heavy wooden furnishings were replaced by white-grey natural stone, natural linen, mirrored surfaces, and silk rugs made of wool and silk. The result was incredibly luminous and airy.
The designer’s favorite new feature was the bold lighting system. The concept was specifically envisioned to offer a cool light during the day in order to
balance the strong sunlight and discretely transition to a warm light in the evening for a cozy ambiance.
Concrete resin floors and freestanding furniture replaced the original wooden decks and heavy built-in furniture. The walls were covered in 300 meters (984 feet) of natural linen from the luxury Italian brand Loro Piana. The design team also added an impressive 12-meter-high (39-foot) staircase. Another outstanding feature is the back-lit onyx bar on the upper deck, which creates a dazzling effect together with the color-changing LED lighting system.
One of the main purposes of this renovation was to add a glamorous party touch to the Italian yacht. According to Niedrer, it was truly challenging to integrate a 35,000-watt sound system into the existing steel and aluminum structure. Still, together with the lasers dropping from the ceilings, this literally transforms the vessel into a unique multi-level dancefloor with an incredible atmosphere.

The German millionaire enjoyed his custom luxury toy to the fullest. Although Forever was also available for charter, he made sure to spend the entire summer season on board. But that doesn’t mean it was all about relaxation. Like most young entrepreneurs, Mahren decided he could run his business from any location, including his private pleasure craft. During the summer, Forever literally becomes Mahren’s home away from home. Plus, he also gets to meet his business partners, who are also cruising in the Med around that time of the year.
The 2014 Logica Yachts vessel became one of the coolest luxury yachts today, a businessman’s floating mansion and a crazy party boat, all in one. It can accommodate 12 guests across six cabins, and there’s a large nine-person crew ready to cater to their needs. Other typical superyacht amenities include a spacious beach club, a gym with an adjacent steam room, multiple al-fresco dining areas, and an impressive swimming pool.
This pool was one of the first things that attracted Mahren to the Logica yacht because of its atypical placement. Instead of the conventional circular jacuzzi up on the sun deck, the Forever superyacht sports a 5.5-meter (18 feet) rectangular swimming pool on the foredeck, complete with a jacuzzi and jet system.
Last year, Forever underwent an exterior refit that endowed it with a brand-new flybridge. The upper deck was extended, and the superstructure was repainted. The flybridge is a harmonious addition to the previous interior style refit, flaunting a statement bar counter. Forever feels surprisingly spacious for a yacht its size.

The main salon, with its contemporary, minimalistic design, looks like a stunning penthouse apartment in Miami. The yacht is also designed to house a generous selection of water toys. During its travels, Forever is accompanied by a luxurious Wally chaseboat. Powered by twin MAN engines, this ultra-stylish floating mansion can cruise smoothly at 15 knots (27.7 kph) and cover more than 6,000 nautical miles (11,000 km).
The German millionaire is apparently ready for an even bigger and shinier toy. After having enjoyed his bespoke pleasure craft for six years, Mahren is ready to say goodbye to Forever. The luxury yacht has entered the market with an asking price of nearly $17 million (€15,9 million) and is in better shape than ever.
