Azimut has introduced the Seadeck 6, the first model in its new Seadeck Series, at the Venice Boat Show 2024. This series represents the world’s first range of low-emission yachts, designed to balance luxury with sustainability. Today the shipyard shared brand new exterior shots of Seadeck 6. Let’s take a look.

Azimut’s Seadeck Series is the result of over two decades of innovation aimed at reducing environmental impact. The Seadeck 6 embodies these efforts, incorporating advanced technologies to deliver one of the most efficient and sustainable yachts produced by Azimut. The series can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to traditional yachts of similar size, thanks to its innovative design and technology.

The Seadeck 6 measures 17.5 meters in length with a beam of 5.05 meters. It can accommodate up to six guests in three cabins and includes a crew cabin. Powered by Volvo IPS engines, the yacht can reach a top speed of 33 knots and comfortably cruise at 24 knots.

The exterior design by Alberto Mancini features a modern aesthetic that blends with the yacht’s sustainable mission. Interior designers Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez focused on using natural or recycled materials to enhance the yacht’s durability and aesthetic appeal. Their design includes oak ribbing wood, which contributes to the yacht’s longevity and creates a tranquil atmosphere through patterns of light and shadow.

The Seadeck 6 features a composite hull and superstructure with carbon fiber reinforcements. Approximately 40% of the yacht’s surface, including the deckhouse, roof, wings, bathing platform, and main deck, is constructed using high-performance, lightweight materials. This significant use of carbon fiber helps optimize the yacht’s weight, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

The yacht’s naval architecture, developed by Azimut|Benetti Group’s R&D Department in collaboration with NAMES, maximizes efficiency at cruising speeds. The hull is designed to start hydroplaning sooner, reducing drag and broadening the speed range for optimal efficiency.

The Seadeck 6 introduces the Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, which uses a 42-kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of the engines. This system allows the yacht to operate at zero emissions at anchor for up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night. It also enables navigation with the generator off for up to 8 hours, enhancing energy efficiency.

The yacht is also prepared for a Full-Hybrid system, which will debut with the larger Seadeck 7 in September 2024. This system will further reduce emissions and improve efficiency.

The Seadeck 6 emphasizes the use of sustainable materials. Cork, sourced sustainably, replaces traditional teak for decking. Inside, carpeting is made from recycled materials (R-PET), contributing to a luxurious yet environmentally friendly interior. Approximately 30% of the yacht’s skeleton is also made from R-PET, utilizing about 15,000 recovered plastic bottles.

Azimut Yachts is an Azimut Benetti Group brand. With its Atlantis, Magellano Flybridge, S, Verve and Grande collections, Azimut offers the widest range of 10 to 40 meters.
