Barre – JAMES A. VEDRANI, 68, previously of Amesbury, MA, passed away on Sunday November 12, 2023, in Barre, Vermont. Jim was the son of the late Robert and Helen Vedrani of Amesbury, MA.
He is survived by his sister, Louise Gish, of Cromwell, Connecticut, his brother Carl Vedrani and sister-in-law, Aline Vedrani, formerly of Amesbury but who now reside in Millbury, MA and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Henry Vedrani and Robert Vedrani Jr., and his sister, Linda (Vedrani) Spurling.
James was a graduate of Amesbury High School in Class of 1973 and served a four-year tour of duty in the U. S. Coast Guard. He was employed thereafter for several years as the Chief Engineer on Amway’s luxury yacht, The Enterprise. Jim earned his Captain’s license, and for several years thereafter, he captained several luxury yachts, mainly cruising throughout the Caribbean Islands.
Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the E.V. Jutras Funeral Home in Amesbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Andre Bessette Church 2 School St. Amesbury, MA. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
