Have legs? Will walk. Have ship? Will sail. And how he sailed! Centibillionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, know how to make the most of a $500 million floating asset. Simply refuse to get off it! The billionaire indeed loves every minute aboard the Oceanco masterpiece so much that their summer escapade seems rather endless, with almost three months spent on the Koru sailing yacht.

The western Mediterranean appears to have made a special place in their heart as every momentous occasion, from proposing marriage, celebrating the engagement, and loving each other company and families, have taken place on the megayacht. The American tycoon and the businesswoman first stepped aboard the second largest sailing yacht in the world on May 2023.

The 59-year-old philanthropist arrived on the Spanish Balearic Island by private jet before being transferred to a helicopter that whisked the couple to Koru. Support vessel Abeona worth $75 million, followed with toys, tenders, and a chopper for helicopter pilot Sanchez.

What followed next was a kingly sailing itinerary, which has taken them, since May, through the Balearic Islands, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Capri, Sardinia, Portofino, and the Baltic country. The journey began with a bang as by the end of May, the Amazon founder popped the question with an enormous diamond engagement ring.

Their happiness and holidays seem to know no bounds. The $500 million schooner has recently moored at Europe’s largest shipyards, La Coitat, France. The 416-footer and her shadow vessel have docked for possible modifications or maintenance work, as the yacht has been sailing perpetually for the last three months.

Undertaking a voyage to the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands seems like an impractical idea, especially with one of the best venues in the Mediterranean for yacht services in the vicinity. The third richest man would instead hire Oceanco technicians to come to the vessel and work at the La Coitat facility.

The La Coitat shipyard caters to the biggest superyachts in the world-
The shipyard is a European leader in refitting and repairing boats longer than 200 feet. Recently, Nancy Walton’s ship, the $300 million Kaos, escaped chaos to rejuvenate at La Coitat for four days, undergoing damage repair. This spa for superyachts boasts a megayacht platform accommodating sizes between 265 feet and 377 feet.

The facility launched a new 4,300-tonne ship lift that successfully hauled out Lürssen superyacht Bella Vita. Koru is indeed in good care at the hands of the 188-year-old shipyard with over 50 employees. La Coitat reigns 8% to 10% of the global market to refit and repair massive yachts.
