90 Day Fiancé season 9 star Jibri Bell’s extreme makeover is raising questions about his intentions amid rumors of his split with wife Miona Bell. Professional makeup artist Miona, from Serbia, and Jibri, the frontman of Black Serbs, met while he was performing in her country. Jibri and Miona went on a world tour where the South Dakota man proposed. Miona and Jibri did not worry about their finances when they got engaged, and she moved to the U.S. expecting she would live in LA. Instead, Jibri got Miona to stay with his disapproving parents, until they moved out, and Miona claimed they were never as poor as their storyline suggested.
The reality TV show couple never missed a chance to flaunt their lavish lifestyle online. They wanted to prove to fans that they were rich and even had three fancy cars to prove it. They wore matching clothes and dressed in designer accessories, even making a music video about their wedding. Jibri’s boastful nature was a turn-off to fans. He came across as a tryhard who fans thought was faking his lifestyle on social media to prove he was better than the rest.
Jibri’s Makeover May Mean He & Miona Are Done
Meanwhile, Miona started her wig and ponytail business after the end of 90 Day Fiancé season 9. The business was an instant success, and Miona reportedly made $20,000 in just a week. Jibri was by Miona’s side as her business flourished. He was the one-man army helping Miona pack her orders and even filmed himself taking the parcels to the post office. Since Miona was such an expert in hair and hairstyles, it was natural for her to give her husband a makeover. In April 2023, Miona experimented with her husband’s hair to give him a brand-new cut. “I’m just good when it comes to anything about hair!” Miona said in the Instagram video.
Of course, the video doesn’t exist anymore, just like all the others in which Miona and Jibri could be seen together. The 90 Day Fiancé star doesn’t feature in any of his wife’s IG posts when just a few months ago, they could be seen doing everything together. Jibri and Miona have even stopped interacting with each other’s posts on the social media platform, which could mean that they have muted each other’s profiles, too. Around October, fans noticed these signs of a split between Jibri and Miona. Incidentally, another sign of their rumored breakup is the fact that Jibri has been touring Southeast Asia since mid-September while Miona is still in Palm Springs.
When Jibri posted photos of his new look on October 19, it came as a shock to his followers, Jibri got the “monk fade” which meant he shaved off not only his head but also his eyebrows. Jibri letting go of his hair might be another clue for fans to add to the list of reasons why they think Jibri and Miona are done. Hair is something that’s very close to Miona since her entire business is about enhancing one’s crowning glory. In that case, Jibri choosing to get rid of his hair is the ultimate move he could have made to suggest he’s gotten rid of Miona as well.
Jibri May Be Ashamed Of His Vanity
However, the way Jibri addressed his new look made it seem like it was him trying to let go of worldly pleasures. Jibri explained that in Buddhist culture, someone getting rid of their hair serves as a symbol of renunciation of “worldly ego and fashion.” Jibri told a fan that he understands his journey is beyond the line for most people. It also made him decide that he was going to visit every nation on planet Earth before the age of 40. Even though Jibri’s posting about his extreme move on the internet is ironic, he wanted to inspire at least one person with his post in order to serve his purpose.
Jibri told another fan that he wanted a change from his luxurious lifestyle. He found it “extreme” that he woke up every day in his “California castle” with three luxury cars and decided which one he would drive to Starbucks after putting on his designer clothes, cologne, and jewelry. Jibri was chasing fame as he hoped for people to notice him and compliment him. He was running around in circles looking for more things to possess and thus have more power. By shaving his head, he denounced all that he had wished for. “I have never in my life felt as light and free as I do now,” Jibri confessed.
Jibri May Be An Attention Seeker
However, it’s hard for 90 Day Fiancé fans to believe Jibri’s claims, as they pass them off as his usual shenanigans. Jibri and Miona failed to impress fans when they started off as cast members on the show. It wasn’t because their storyline was lackluster but because they came across as clout chasers who were more interested in gaining followers than showcasing a tale of true love on television. They had their Cameo accounts in place even before their 90DF season started to air. Jibri even started an auction for his pair of pants with a hole, though fans refused to believe that he managed to sell them for $28,000.
Additionally, there were rumors that Jibri and Miona were already married before she came to the U.S. Their storyline was assumed to be fake, further fueling the belief that they tricked viewers. Jibri introduced his band and band members, making it look like he did the show to self-promote. Miona too had already created the pages for her new business while season 9 was yet to be released. She used the products that she’s selling now on the show to lure viewers.
Jibri and Miona even tried selling the outfits that they were dressed in on 90 Day Fiancé to fans. Miona bought a fancy car after completing one year of living in America. She forgot to thank the show for making her an online celebrity that helped boost sales and instead glorified her own business acumen. Jibri and Miona have been away from the show for a while now, so it makes sense for them to stir the drama themselves, which in turn, might just land them another spot on 90 Day Fiancé, so they can continue milking their fame.
90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
