With a rich 145-year history in the shipbuilding sector, Lürssen has been at the forefront of the marine industry for decades. The German shipbuilder is known for its prolificity and ability to create floating masterpieces, and its most recent project, the Haven superyacht, is a testament to both of these qualities.
The yacht is not as massive as the previous two hulls delivered this year, measuring 269 feet (82 meters) from bow to stern, but it’s still one of the largest tri-deck superyachts currently cruising the high seas. Boasting an exterior designed in-house by Lürssen’s Jim Robert Sluijter, Haven is characterized by a low profile with a straight bow, long, sweeping lines, and a sleek steel hull. The sinuous concave patterns that can be observed in its aluminum superstructure are designed to reflect motion, especially the movement of waves when the sun is in the right position in the sky.
Built for a family that loves outdoor activities, Haven boasts expansive deck spaces that encourage “outdoor conviviality,” a family-oriented layout, and generous storage space for water toys.

“The owner fell in love with the first outline of the project, and as a result, Haven has barely changed from the original sketch. Haven feels very different from many other yachts; she has a practical and functional design that places great emphasis on outdoor living. Thanks to an interplay of light and glazing, all interior spaces are well connected with the outdoors,” Sluijter explained.
A highlight of the design is the spacious beach club on the lower deck with large terraces that open to both sides to further expand the outdoor area at sea level. The beach club is connected to a sizable swim platform that offers seamless access to the water.
The focus on outdoor conviviality is also highlighted by the sprawling 100-foot (30-meter) long sun deck that is brimming with luxury amenities, such as a Jacuzzi, a lounge, a bar, an outdoor cinema, and an alfresco dining area with a barbecue and pizza oven. Apart from these cool features, it also offers panoramic views of the surrounding ocean, making it an ideal place for both daytime and evening activities. The fact that the vessel is also equipped with moveable windbreak panels is a good thing, offering shelter in less pleasant weather conditions.

Thanks to an impressive 41-foot (12.5-meter) beam, the superyacht boasts an interior volume of 2,130 GT. As such, it offers generous interior spaces brought to life by British design studio RWD. Details regarding the interior layout and design are scarce at the moment, but the yard has revealed that RWD opted for natural materials, asymmetrical shapes, and a dynamic layout. Moreover, Mattia Mazzucchi, Head of Interiors at RWD, commented that “subtly crafted details create a playful and timeless interior” and that “through the combination of curated pieces and custom designs, every inch of Haven will be beautiful, personal, and functional.” As for the sleeping arrangements, it can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests in six suites.
Though no details on the propulsion system are available, it seems the new Haven superyacht will comfortably cruise at 11 knots and will reach a maximum speed of 13 knots.
