While houses are expensive in the Halton Region (and across the GTA overall), some properties are more costly than others and even though the market has slowed due to higher interest rates, some luxurious homes are still changing hands. 

Real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa recently rounded up five properties that sold for more than the region’s average house price of $1,245,146 (all home types combined) in September. 

According to the latest data from the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), the average house price in Halton is climbing, rising 1.2 per cent from $1,230,389 in August. 

Here’s a look at five of the most expensive homes that recently changed hands in Oakville and Milton:


3338 Lakeshore Rd. W.

This elegant and luxurious Oakville home sits right on the waterfront, creating a truly rare cottage-in-the-city experience. Sold for $4,673,000 after hitting the market at $4,899,000, this spacious family home offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms, over 2,000 square feet of living space and an unrivalled 100-foot private beach that abuts a public beach and South Shell Park. 


208 Tilford Rd.

This Oakville house, which spans over 2,000 square feet, recently sold for $2,974,988 after being listed for $2,999,988. The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits on a quiet dead-end street and features an open-concept kitchen, main floor office and luxurious primary bedroom with a fireplace and jacuzzi. 


2022 Hixon St.

This spacious Oakville home boasts four bedrooms, five bathrooms and over 5,000 square feet of living space. It recently sold for $2,800,000–under the asking price of 2,899,000. The custom-built home, located close to Bronte Village and Oakville’s downtown core, features high-end finishes, family and living rooms and a double-car garage. 


5291 25 Sideroad

It’s all about the view inside this picturesque Milton home that overlooks vast and untouched greenspace. This home, which offers over 6,000 square feet of living space, offers five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It sold for $2,550,000 after being listed for $2,799,397. Filled with large windows, this home–perfect for outdoorsy types–offers ample outdoor space and a sports room.


1418 Summerhill Cres.

This stylish and upgraded family home in Oakville sold for $2,483,800 after hitting the market at $2,599,000. The house offers four bedrooms, four bathrooms and over 3,000 square feet of space. The home, located in Joshua Creek, also boasts a pool, a gourmet kitchen and formal living and dining rooms.
