Arlington has one of the highest proportions of luxury rental housing among U.S. cities.
That’s according to a new set of rankings from the real estate website Point2.
“Affluent lifestyle renters have skyrocketed in recent years, driving up the demand for luxury single-family rentals across the U.S.,” a spokesperson for the site noted. “These renters are seeking more — top notch amenities, tons of living spaces, and no mortgage hassles.”
Enter: Arlington.
“With nearly 30%, Arlington has the 10th highest share of luxury houses for rent,” the spokesperson wrote. “Together with East Coast cities like Miami, FL, with more than 33%, and Boston, MA, with 42%, they challenge California’s dominance over the luxury rental market.”
And it doesn’t stop there. Arlington is also No. 11 among the 100 largest U.S. cities for “ultra-luxury” rentals.
“Arlington’s rental market extends beyond luxury, with 3% of listings catering to the most sophisticated tastes,” the spokesperson wrote. “While this share isn’t enough to secure Arlington a spot in the top 10 cities for ultra-luxury rentals, it shows renters looking for the finest home features definitely have options in the city.”
“Arlington is among the standout destinations for high-end living on the East Coast,” Point2 concluded.
The study, which looked at single-family homes available for rent on May 28, defines “luxury” as a rental rate of $5,000 and above, and “ultra-luxury” as homes with monthly rental rates above $10,000. The study included townhomes but excluded apartments.
