Tyde and BMW present the open yacht
German luxury yacht manufacturer TYDE, in collaboration with BMW, has recently unveiled THE OPEN,
the world’s largest foiling motor yacht, in a grand debut held in Dubai. Following the launch of THE ICON electric watercraft a few months ago (see our previous coverage here), THE OPEN merges futuristic aesthetics with a spacious design, guaranteeing passenger comfort and a luxurious experience. The propulsion system offers a smooth, silent, and eco-friendly ride, minimizing disturbances to nature during the journey on the water. This collaboration emphasizes sustainable mobility and a modern take on luxury, focusing on conscious enjoyment, electrification, sustainability, innovation, and joy. THE OPEN, measuring 14.8 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width, allows passengers to glide gracefully over waves, experiencing the tranquility of the open waters without the noise and emissions associated with traditional engine-powered yachts. THE OPEN’s energy-efficient design reduces energy consumption by 80% through hydrofoiling, while also surpassing typical day yachts, which normally consume over 150 liters of fossil fuels per hour.

On its expansive body, THE OPEN offers a flush deck with a two-seater helm station, a sheltered galley with seating, a double sunbed at the stern, and a spacious relaxation area on the foredeck. It also incorporates a full-surface solar roof, contributing to sustainable idle time and showcasing innovative green technology within the marine industry. With a 400 kWh battery capacity and two 100 kW electric engines, it achieves a maximum speed of 30 knots and cruises comfortably at 25 knots, offering a range of 50 nautical miles at this pace. Customization options are available, enabling passengers to tailor THE OPEN to their preferences through an online configurator or private consultation. Inside, TYDE‘s yacht features a prismatic cabin design, creating a spacious sleeping area, a large TV screen, a functional worktable, ample storage, and a fully equipped bathroom. Natural light fills the cabin, creating a modern and expansive atmosphere, perfect for an indulgent escape on the water. This yacht harmoniously blends power, efficiency, and luxury, delivering a sustainable and comfortable yachting experience.
